Anons, I need your advice. My sister is due to give birth in two weeks and she says she wants everyone in the family to get the whooping cough vaccine if they want to see the baby in the first 6 weeks before she's old enough to get it herself.

After this whole COVID-19 bullshit I've become very hesitant about vaccines as a whole, and I don't feel comfortable getting a vaccine put into my body which would provide no benefit for myself just so I'm able to visit my new niece.

She raises a point, however, that this vaccine has been around for a long time and is considered safe. A lot of people I know have gotten it and have been perfectly fine. But I can't help but shake the feeling that all vaccines - not just the dodgy COVID vaccines - are unnecessary.
