Buy practical transportation.
I don't own anything newer than 12 yrs old.
Or pay more than $3,000
But it helps that I know auto mechanics pretty well.

That sucks that it could be totaled.
It blows my mind how many people that are out there that don't seem to get that you can't afford a $10,000 vehicle on a $15,000/yr income. If you can't pay cash you can't afford it.
I drive a 05 Prius that cost me $2500 and a $25 wheel speed sensor at 226K that now has 242K, a 02 Honda Odyssey with no issues beyond basic maintenance and high mileage for $1000 at 280K that now has 352K, and just bought a 03 Express Cargo with 123K miles for $1150. The Express had a bad ground on the body which caused the fuel pump not to run…. a $5 fix.
Who are you? Kek.
