Chairman Bob Goodlatte Fires Warning Shot to Peter Strzok ‘A Subpoena is Coming’

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) appeared on Fox News Tuesday evening to discuss the Congressional hearing with IG Horowitz.

Chairman Goodlatte revealed a subpoena has been prepared for Peter Strzok and is on the way.

“We want to have him [Strzok] before the Committee. He has now indicated that he would come voluntarily. He has not pinned himself down on when so we are imminently going to issue a subpoena to him to appear next week,” Goodlatte said.

“So a subpoena has been prepared but not been issued yet?” asked Fox News’ Sandra Smith.

“If [Peter Strzok is] going to appear voluntarily, his lawyer better contact us right away, because a subpoena is coming.”

Peter Strzok was escorted out of the FBI building on Friday, however; he is still employed in Human Resources.

Last Thursday we found out Trump-hating FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok sent his mistress Lisa Page a text message saying “we’ll stop” Trump from becoming President

This text message from Strzok was sent to Page 9 days after “Crossfire Hurricane” was opened and 6 days before the “insurance policy” text.

In another damning text exchange between the FBI lovebirds 6 days after Strzok said he’ll “stop” Trump from becoming President, was a discussion about an “insurance policy” to keep Donald Trump out of office.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office…that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected…but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” Strzok text messaged to Page in an Aug. 15, 2016 exchange, referring to Andrew McCabe.

“It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” Strzok added.

Australia staying put on UN Rights Council

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says Australia shares many concerns held by the United States about the UN Human Rights Council, but will not be pulling out.

The US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley described the council as a "cesspool of political bias" which ignores the atrocities of its members.

Ms Bishop is disappointed by America's decision to withdraw, but shares its concerns about areas of contention, including the council's "anti-Israel bias".

"We are committed to progress effective and meaningful reform to enable the council to more effectively carry out its role," the minister said in a statement on Wednesday.

"It was our strong preference for the US to remain a member of the UNHRC and I had made this known to senior members of the Trump administration."

Ms Bishop said it was in Australia's national interest to shape the work of the council and uphold the international rules-based order.

"Australia has pledged to be a principled, pragmatic and consultative member, bringing a unique Indo-Pacific perspective to our term and amplify the voices of our Pacific neighbours," she said.

Australia's second session as a member of the UNHRC began in Geneva this week.

Labor foreign affairs spokeswoman Penny Wong is concerned the US withdrawing from the council risks emboldening those who do not share Australia's support for democracy and human rights.

"It's entirely a matter for the US which international bodies it chooses to be a member of," Senator Wong said.

"But Labor believes it is better to remain engaged in international organisations like the UNHRC in order to promote our values and protect our national interests."

Amnesty International said Australia's role on the council is now more important than ever.

"We should work towards having the US rejoin the Human Rights Council, but Australia also must now step up and fill the leadership gap, especially on human rights abuses in our region," advocacy manager Emma Bull said.

"Protecting universal freedoms and fairness is vital in this global climate, and Australia must use its council seat to champion rights in our region and around the world."

Jeff Sessions on Children at the Border: Build the Wall and ‘We Won’t Face These Terrible Choices’

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said at the National Sheriffs’ Association annual conference in New Orleans on Monday that the way to end the stream of people, including children, who are coming across the U.S. border illegally is to build the wall and enact laws that stop illegal immigration and amnesty.

“We do not want to separate children from their parents,” Sessions said. “We do not want adults to bring children into this country unlawfully, placing them at risk.”

“But we do have a policy of prosecuting adults who flout our laws to come here illegally instead of waiting their turn or claiming asylum at any port of entry,” Sessions said. “We cannot and will not encourage people to bring children by giving them blanket immunity from our laws.”

Sessions criticized the Obama administration when parents who separated themselves from their children by sending them on their own or with human trafficking operations to the U.S./Mexico border.

President Barack Obama, he said, did not enforce federal immigration law and gave thousands of unaccompanied minors entry into the United States.

The federal government has also spent more than $1 billion taxpayer dollars a year caring for those children and those brought here by law-breaking parents or other adults, Sessions noted.

“That is an enormous cost that we bear because we sent a message to those crossing illegally to bring children and avoid prosecution and deportation,” Sessions said. “This country is dedicated to caring for children.”

Sessions said the United States allows more than a million people to come to the country legally each year.

“But when we ignore our laws at the border we obviously encourage hundreds of thousands of people a year to likewise ignore our laws and illegally enter our country, creating an enormous burden on our law enforcement, our schools, our hospitals, and social programs,” Sessions said.

“President Trump has said this cannot continue,” Sessions said.

“We do not want to separate parents from their children,” Sessions said. “ If we build the wall, if we pass legislation to end the lawlessness, we won’t face these terrible choices.”

Sessions closed by saying the Trump administration stands with the law enforcement community.

“You can be certain about this: We have your backs, and you have our thanks,” Sessions said.
