DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
"Apparently because (her husband) was terminally ill, they had a conversation about it and they actually planned this approximately three weeks ago, that if he continued to take a turn for the worse, that … he wanted her to end this," Young said.
"Apparently the goal was for him to do it, but he did not have the strength, so she had to carry it out for him."

-The shooting was brought to the attention of police by a shot scanner (not a 911 call)
Police say officers were sent to investigate a ShotSpotter activation – gunfire picked up by an automated system – and "learned there was a shooting between several individuals."

“The biggest threat to us right now is retaliatory shootings—the groups going back and forth, and we continue to see violence that will stem from this particular incident,” said OPD Captain Tony Jones, who leads the department’s Ceasefire unit, which seeks to interrupt gang violence in Oakland. “Our plan will be laser-focused on the specific people or specific groups that were involved in this particular incident last night.”

Another detail -Five people were shot. Three were injured in a car accident, fleeing the scene.
"Five people were shot [at least 19 shell casings, multiple shooters in "shootout"]*, including Navarro, who was killed. The other victims ranged in age from 15 to 63 years old, Allison said. Three more people were injured after a car crashed while fleeing the scene, injuring the driver and two passengers. Another vehicle was struck by stray bullets as a driver was leaving the scene, but the driver was not hit. One person is still in the hospital."
