More Than Half A Dozen State Governors Pull National Guard Troops From The Border

Eight states have decided to either forgo sending National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border or to withdraw already deployed troops as of Tuesday.

Democratic Governors from Connecticut, Delaware, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Virginia, as well as Republican governors in Massachusetts and Maryland announced their decision to abstain from helping to secure the southern border. The move comes as the Trump administration is facing increased backlash over policies separating families of immigrants when they illegally enter the U.S.

General Electric to end more than 100-year run on Dow; Walgreens added

LOS ANGELES (AP) – General Electric will be dropped from the Dow Jones industrial average next week, ending the industrial conglomerate's more than 100-year run in the 30-company blue chip index.

S&P Dow Jones Indices said Tuesday that GE will be removed from index before the open of trading next Tuesday. Its slot will go to drugstore chain Walgreens Boots Alliance.

The fall of James Brien Comey

For the last few months, James Brien Comey, the FBI director fired by Donald Trump in the midst of the Russia investigation, has presented himself as the Last Honest Man as he toured the country selling books and taking potshots at the president.

How self-righteous is Comey? In the midst of the Russia maelstrom, he posted to his Instagram account a photo of the Potomac River falls outside Washington, adding a biblical quote: “Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”

Now, justice is rolling in Comey’s direction, with the revelation that he is under investigation for possibly mishandling classified and confidential information in his apparently all-consuming desire to get Trump.
