there is parallax distortion produced by the forced perspective of the camera lens.

ultimately, i think that the last two cancel out and your estimate of the guys height is close, BUT…

this meme will not convince skeptics, and may have the opposite effect.

those are OLD bricks, and their thickness is actually slightly less than 2 inches, so again his errors approx cancel out.

i also neglected to mention that the lines he drew over-estimated his height. the top of his head is one or two bricks below his parka hood.
