Gentoo FTW, but I don't recommend it to people switching from Windows.
Gentoo has no installer on purpose. It filterers out the people that don't file bug reports with patches. For anyone curious, Gentoo is source based, when you command it to install a program, it downloads the source code and compiles it with the options you specify. You could, for example, compile everything without ipv6 support, or choose a different SSL library. It's a OS for developers or users who want real control over their software stack.
Arch has by far the best documentation.

Parallel build cmake etc has improved. Building any Chromium derivative still takes awhile… I like suckless surf, but webkitgtk still takes a bit.
The OS relentlessly improves… running ~amd64 is safe (that's the bleeding edge for non-gentoo users). #gentoo on libre irc is very active and friendly.
:) The ebuild will prob bail out for lack of RAM, if you comment that out in a overlay… and give a swapfile… I guess less than a week.
