You know how it can be hard in a family to take away the car keys from someone who's maybe getting senile or is otherwise dangerous behind the wheel? It's not pleasant but it can be necessary if it seems the person could do serious damage driving a car. If some one is significantly demented and you don't do something, you would probably feel, appropriately responsible if something terrible happened when your family member was on the road.

Well America, I think it is time we take the keys away from corrupt bureaucrats, the corporate profiteers, and the perverse politicians, for the same reasons that its not okay to let a compromised person behind the wheel of a car.

We've had more than enough time to see that government and corporate actors are dangerous. And, by the way, it makes no sense to ask the senile institutions and corporations to fix this themselves. That would be like asking your dad with Alzheimer's to figure out he can't drive. Time to do something a lot of us maybe haven't for a while…be adults.
