i would say it's closer to weimar germany before ww2 taking into account the cultural decay and economic atmosphere to where it's going to take a wheelbarrow full of cash just to buy groceries

america already has over 8,000 tons of gold so technically we could go back to a gold-backed currency/gold standard but the problem is getting corrupt politicians to do that
