Donald Trump's courses will host THREE of LIV Golf's 14 events during its second expanded season with his Washington DC venue joining the Saudi-backed series' schedule

Former President Donald Trump's golf course in Washington D.C. has joined LIV Golf's schedule for the Saudi-backed breakaway's second season.

 

LIV Golf announced its full schedule for its second expanded season Monday, which features 14 events in seven countries.

 

Trump National Golf Club in Washington D.C. will be one of three of the former president's courses to host the rebel series in 2023, joining his Bedminster and Miami venues, which were both part of LIV's inaugural circuit.

 

Trump's Doral Golf Club in Miami hosted last year's finale, the Team Championship, but that honor has been tripped away from the 45th President for the coming season.

 

Last year's team championship, whereby four teams of as many players battle it out in twosomes for a $50million prize pot, took place at the golf resort in Miami, but the 2023 event will be held in Saudi.

 

LIV Golf confirmed it is moving the showpiece to the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah on November 3-5.

 

Trump was in attendance at both events held at his courses in 2022, seen waving to the crowds and almost treating the tournament as his own political rally.

 

The Saudi-funded series will return to Bedminster, New Jersey from August 11-13, while Miami will now host the penultimate event from October 20-22.

 

His National Golf Club outside the nation's capital has now joined the ranks, hosting the seventh event on the schedule from May 26-28.

 

LIV Golf, which is funded by Saudi's Public Investment Fund, have revealed their players will be competing for $405million across 14 tournaments over the course of the season, which is $150million more than they collected for eight tournaments last year.

 

The tour's full 2023 schedule includes a return to Centurion Club, the scene of its inaugural event last June, outside London from July 7-9, as well as Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois from September 22-24. However, the circuit will not be returning to Portland, Oregon, and Boston.

 

The state of Florida will also play host to another event with LIV visiting Orange County National in Orlando from March 31-April 2 - just one week before The Masters, the first major of the year, which has confirmed that LIV rebels will be allowed to compete.

 

LIV Golf had previously announced their 2023 schedule will begin at El Camaleon Golf Club in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - a former PGA Tour venue - from February 24-26.

 

It had also revealed that The Gallery Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona (March 17-19), The Grange Golf Club in Australia (April 21-23), The Serapong at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore (April 28-30), Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma (May 12-14), Real Club Valderrama in Spain (June 30-July 2) and The Greenbrier in West Virginia (August 4-6) will all host tournaments.

 

The event in Spain will be held at the prestigious Valderrama, which has been the site of the 1997 Ryder Cup, in addition to two editions of the World Golf Championships (1999 and 2000), the long-running Volvo Masters (1988-2009), and in recent years, the Andalucia Masters.

 

LIV defectors Graeme McDowell and Sergio Garcia have both been victorious on the course.

 

Meanwhile, The Grange Golf Club is the site of LIV CEO Greg Norman's first professional victory at the West Lakes Classic in 1976.

 

Collectively, the 14 courses have hosted more than 200 professional, collegiate and amateur events, including the Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup, Senior PGA Championship and US Women’s Open.

LIV Golf has drawn widespread controversy since its inception, most notably from the likes of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

 

And, McIlroy found himself once again at the center of the civil war after LIV defector Patrick Reed threw a tee at him - in an incident now dubbed 'tee-gate.'
