Smear someone (Durham broke the rules)
Press reports it (exclusive NYT report last week alleging Durham abused power)
Has validation b/c the press reported it (Hey look, the NYT said it, must be true)
Now politicians merchandise it (Due to reports in the media, Senate has an excuse to take action on Durham such as telling DOJ to end the probe)
It's called the wrap up smear
Schiff might graduate to the Senate. Going to be a cut throat race though. Other CA Dems with strong DS ties vying for the same spot.
