For Obama at that age, pretty much impossible to renounce US citizenship. Minor child, (under 18) parents can't renounce for him and would need an interview without parents present to prove no pressure and his understanding of his actions. 16 & over, might fly, at his age, almost a positive no, IMO.

Even if, he would have gotten a chance at 18 (6 month window?) to reclaim.

I'm going with strings pulled by step-father or US spook agencies (if mom was an agent) to get an Indonesian passport if Indonesia wouldn't allow dual citizenship for minors. Indonesia itself, nor his parents, could have taken away Obama's US citizenship (if he had one).
