In 1985, an F-15 Eagle flying at 36,000 feet shot down the Solwind P78-1 satellite, which was traveling at 17,000 mph and 300 miles above the earth. Major Doug Pearson piloted the jet. The balloon could be easily taken down if POTUS has a spine.
