Google is investing $300M in an OpenAI challenger that will take on ChatGPTwhile focusing on A.I. safety

February 4, 2023 at 4:49 PM CST

On Friday, Google announced a partnership with Anthropic, a startup founded in 2021. Anthropic makes Claude, which like ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot.

With the $300 million deal, Google will take a roughly 10% stake in the startup, according to the Financial Times. Anthropic for its part gets both a financial boost and cloud computing resources it needs. The deal could give Anthropic a valuation of roughly $5 billion, the New York Times reported.

Of course, ChatGPT maker OpenAI has Microsoft money behind it—lots of it. In a deal revealed last month, Microsoft will invest $10 billion in the startup. It also invested $1 billion in 2019, then quietly added another $2 billion in 2021. The software giant plans to incorporate OpenAI technology into a wide variety of products, including the Bing search engine, possibly disrupting Google’s search dominance. ~moar

>this anon has Q's.

I have questions, too …

Why didn't they just shoot the balloon and not the satellite? I guess now all the have to say is that everything got destroyed by the missile/landing/water.

If another balloon flies over the U.S. again, tomorrow, will Burden/Milley just let it go through the whole country again?

Was information automatically sent to China as it received it in the satellite?

Why didn't they stop this fucker before it got to Alaska?

What happens to Anon if he sends a balloon through the U.S.?

It appears that not only did Hamilton 68 target Trump with phony claims of Russia bots, they may have also had a hand in the disinformation campaign launched against Roy Moore in Alabama, dubbed"Project Birmingham"

It was a stunning upset in a deeply red state. Democrat Doug Jones beat his Republican opponent, Roy Moore, in the 2017 Alabama Senate race, a special election held to fill former Attorney General Jeff Sessions' seat. The contest drew national attention after Republican candidate Roy Moore was accused of sexual assault and misconduct with teenage girls. Now, reporting following the race has focused on the controversial strategy used by one pro-Jones group called Project Birmingham.
