Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is still spreading worldwide, and there is an urgent need to effectively prevent and control this pandemic. This study evaluated the potential efficacy of Egg Yolk Antibodies (IgY) as a neutralizing agent against the SARS-CoV-2. We investigated the neutralizing effect of anti-spike-S1 IgYs on the SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, as well as its inhibitory effect on the binding of the coronavirus spike protein mutants to human ACE2. Our results show that the anti-Spike-S1 IgYs showed significant neutralizing potency against SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, various spike protein mutants, and even SARS-CoV in vitro. It might be a feasible tool for the prevention and control of ongoing COVID-19.

Justice Paul Rouleau, who ruled in favor of the Liberal Party of Canada’s unprecedented invocation of the Emergencies Act in response to the peaceful Freedom Convoy in 2022, has recommended in his official report that the government look into monitoring citizens’ use of “social media.”

Liberal-friendly Rouleau wrote in Volume 3 of the Report of the Public Inquiry into the 2022 Public Order Emergency: “The federal government, while mindful of concerns related to privacy and government intrusiveness, should examine the question of whether a department or agency of government should have the authority and responsibility to monitor and report on information contained in social media for appropriate purposes and with appropriate safeguards.”

The Canadian Prime Minister spoke out about comments he made in January of 2022, prior to the arrival of the Freedom Convoy protestors in Ottawa, in which he called protestors, “the small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa, who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians.”

A new report sheds light on young Canadians’ views on socialism

Nearly half of young Canadians say socialism is the ideal economic system for Canada, according to a new report.

A Fraser Institute report released on Wednesday shows Canadians aged 18-to-34 had a more positive impression of socialism (46%) than capitalism (39%), communism (13%), and fascism (8%).

The percentages shown represent the share who either “agreed” or “strongly agreed” that each system was ideal for Canada, as opposed to disagreeing, strongly disagreeing or answering that they didn’t know.

Many young Canadians felt socialism was defined as receiving more from the government. Continue…
