>Some people should never practice medicine.

Some people have no idea how technology has fucked up, distorted, decimated, and emotionally warped the perception of quality of life. FFS, people; stop anthropomorphising a belief system and wake up to the entirety of evils of the medical establishment.

"We can keep your loved one alive on a machine but they will have no quality of life and will likely suffer without the capability of telling you they would rather pass on than endure the excruciating pain of a lack of fullness of life, or literal pain they constantly experience because of their injuries. But it's going to cost you 200k per year to lease the machine that can do this."

>Avg dumbfuck response:

<Here's my credit card, and I'll also take out a loan on my house just in case.

WAKE UP. What these people have done is far more evil than prey on your emotions. It's way more sinister than that, and the sad part is, many don't even realize it and perpetuate the system for profit, ultimately, rather than compassion for another human being.

>And go ahead, anon, do what the doctors recommend and pull the plug. because that's what the hospital and docs would like you to do. play God and kill people at will.

OK. Read the entirety of my post then come back here and read this response:

  1. Person is injured beyond ability to care for their own self.

  2. Dr: Hey let's hook them up to machine that does this so they stay "unalive", but legally still alive.

  3. Family agrees and whips out credit application to lenders to finance the non-life of loved one.

  4. OK, so now that your funds are dried up, what do? You pull the plug or we do; the choice is yours.

  5. OMG; what do we do? Can we sell the farm?

  6. Spouse wanted this, and you're fighting for that. Let them go, FFS.

The problem is TECHNOLOGY, as stated in my post.

Terry should've passed with enough morphine to send her to la la land in minutes, but she starved to death because people kept begging Jesus and God to heal her and they never showed up to prove their worth for a human life. Her suffering was a direct result of laws that prevented a merciful passing from an unrecoverable state.

These people are vicious (doctors and others), and they are the ones that design the machines to get you to pay for the preservation of lives of people that will never have quality of life, and likely suffer without any capability whatsoever to tell you they are in eternal pain. There's a nuanced level of understanding these situtations, and the only reason they had to starve her to death was because our country is too fucked up to have provided her with an ethical, pain free way to end the suffering. What's worse? The media made an absolute spectacle of her condition and end state when it should have been a private matter.

The entire situation was 100% beyond fucked up. It's the reason anon got a DNR with qualifying events; no questions asked. And if you are 100% serious about that DNR, make certain you are NOT an organ donor, and demand your empty vessel to be left untouched for an hour after passing to allow family to grieve because they have no qualms with beating heart cadavering your ass for a few dollars.
