i was working in firehouse, downtown Buffalo, NY .. it felt like a plow truck smashed into our house.. but no snow. it was short but very evident.
agreed, we thought boiler explosion because there are huge boilers nearby, but confirmed not that. i would agree, it was very BOOMy and i've witnessed several in my career, we all thought similar.
