Re: the spiral of violence
There is a somewhat common saying that "hurt people, hurt people" and I guess I can see where maybe that is a common reaction: rage against the world. I'd never really been in any sort of violent relationship or situation until recently, as an adult. After sorting through my feelings with it, I'd disagree and say that "hurt people, help people". Being hurt as a child or in unbalanced relationship, where the "lesser" is victimized… might provoke the other response… but really I think that rage is just childish and that if you use it on the regular, you're prolly just laaaaaazy.
