In the late 90's the company I worked for produced plates to make Hydrogen Fuel cells for GM. Supposedly they stacked together like a battery with hydrogen and produced electricity and the only byproduct was water vapor. The 9/11 happened and the GM orders mysteriously went away. From what I heard from current employees there Cummins has been buying a similar panel so maybe Diesel is going to go Hydrogen.
