Different issue altogether. Patient's at the end of life may have breathing difficulties due to a variety of reasons besides Midazolam. In any case, I've seen this phenomena, more than once, where some poor soul is struggling to take his/her next breath and the PANIC that sets in is heartbreaking. The morphine takes that panic away, but this effect gets misconstrued as the hospital(s)/Hospice/wherever kiIling patients with morphine. The patients are on their way out to begin with, the morphine just allows them to have some peace in the process.
That's illegal. Not saying it doesn't happen but, most of the time, it's to keep the patient from experiencing horrifying panic.
