Russell Heller, a member of the Milford Borough township council, was killed in an apparent murder-suicide exactly one week after Eunice Dwumfour, a member of the Sayreville Town Council, was shot dead in her car, according to police.
Police responded to the fatal shooting Wednesday at about 7 a.m. at the utility company PSE&G Somerset Central Division Headquarters, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
The 51-year-old Heller, a senior distribution supervisor for the company, was pronounced deceased on the scene from a gunshot wound, officials said.
Former PSE&G employee Gary Curtis, 58, has been identified as a suspect. When police tracked down his vehicle Wednesday at about 10:20 p.m., they found him dead inside from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.
