The whole article is worth reading, imo. It gives a lot of details that would probably make a difference in people's thinking on the subject.
My conjecture at this point is that women probably (even though I disagree with this and think it is morally wrong) got rid of "problem" pregnancies in the past via various means done privately and that the health risks to the process were equal or less than letting a pregnancy progress to full term and then having the baby killed immediately prior to when natural birth would have occurred anyway. I think that a good part of the US economy is actually based on turning people into a commodity in various ways. So bringing abortion out of the "closet" so to speak actually reflects "their" attempt at profiting while perfecting various eugenist techniques.
