Any ideas on how to reduce government spending in a politically feasible way? Seems like as long as Fed Reserve prints up the dollars and consumes massive resources there is no escape from economic destruction. Inflating the nominal prices of stocks isn't nearly as important as increasing the productive capacity of our economy.

Monetary inflation wipes out the most vulnerable in society and enriches the politically connected who are the recipients of the money. Reducing income taxes is great, but the inflation tax just increases to compensate since government spending was not reduced.

When the Fed creates dollars, it is truly creating claims to real resources. It doesn't grow the pie, it just redistributes the pieces away from those who hold dollars to those whom the Fed chooses.

Remember what happens to empires with unsound government issued money?
