the hibernation periods of cicadas is actually really interesting. Most predators have even-multiple boom/bust cycles. As a result, cicadas (maybe other) have evolved prime numbered hibernation cycles. This maximizes the likelihood of the cicada emerging not during a predator boom.

The other question is what happens to the parents after their kids are gone?
If coyotes kill the parents, what legal entity would have the jurisdiction or capability to cross-reference adult murders with seized children?

I'll be honest, this is about the amount of time I feel an honest investigation would've taken. I'm not too upset.
