actually, i DO know why a rainbow is shaped like a rainbow. take a garden hose outside, face the sun, spray a mist up into the air. you will see a completely circular rainbow. it has NOTHING to do with your imaginary fucking dome. it appear as a complete circle bcs that is where the droplets of water in the air need to be so that the angle of refraction of the rays from the sun matches the angle to your eyes. same reason rainbow appear where they do. if the sun is directly overhead, you will ALSO see a complete, circular rainbow.
