The bad guy in Stranger Things season 2 is a parasitic looking entity called the Mind Flayer. The entity starts possessing / infecting people in a town and the victims of the mind-controlling entity start consuming toxic material i.e jugs of bleach, ammonia, etc. The victims infect others and the Mind Flayer leads them all to a den where it eventually consumes / eats them.
