There is this building drumbeat on the right to kill the first amendment on the internet. Of course, they sell it as "fighting evil."

They foolishly believe, now that the government has established the precedent for an Internet ID for porn, the government will not push the issue. That the government will be content with only ID'ing you for porn. They don't know that in two, five, or ten years, the government will be like: "Well, the boy who shot up the McDonalds was looking at tactical shooting videos, so starting today we'll make you use your ID to look at videos that have anything to do with guns. That way no young people repeat this crime."
Some will think, "well that's not too bad, maybe kids shouldn't look at videos for guns. It's for the greater good"
Then they will click on a clip of Die Hard one day and it will say: "This video contains guns, present your ID."
And they will say, "well maybe kids shouldn't watch Die Hard, that's not too bad to present my ID for that. It's for the greater good."

And then they will put in their digital ID.
