that’s because you’ve been conditioned to draw connections where they don’t actually exist (for better or worse).
If we campaigned hard enough, long enough, and as a unit, we could probably force an actual nation-wide reckoning whereby every black person in America finally understands that the Democrats (not the republicans) fought against the freeing of slaves, and it was the democrats (not the republicans) who formed the KKK.
Central to that, I think, would be getting Denzel Washington to admit it. He’s credible and widely really well respected. If he said it, his people would listen.
