Confirmed today that Iphones can copy text from pictures and paste it in word for word. Even hand written text.

They can also copy and paste images from pictures extracted out.

Got a picture of a plate of food on a table? hold your finger on it and the Iphone will copy the plate, remove everything else and allow you to paste the image as an alpha in a new location.
