I live so close to MacDill AFB that I can hear Taps play at 2200 hours..
Over the course of the last five or so days, the air traffic has been nonstop. Fighters are literally ripping across the sky every 10 minutes or so. I’ve spotted bombers, attack helicopters, and cargo planes going in and out of the base.
It has to be more than this balloon thing. It has to be. If you were here, you’d be awestruck at the level of air traffic.
I’ve lived in the Bay Area since 1993 and I have NEVER seen it at this level other than the days of the air shows.
