> "The brown current ran swiftly out of the heart of darkness, bearing us down towards the sea with twice the speed of our upward progress; and Kurtz's life was running swiftly, too, ebbing, ebbing out of his heart into the sea of inexorable time. . . . I saw the time approaching when I would be left alone of the party of 'unsound method.'"

> Doesn't know about specific gravity

Not all immiscible hydrocarbons are heavier than water.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/API_gravity

> The American Petroleum Institute gravity, or API gravity, is a measure of how heavy or light a petroleum liquid is compared to water: if its API gravity is greater than 10, it is lighter and floats on water; if less than 10, it is heavier and sinks.

> Light crude oil has an API gravity higher than 31.1° (i.e., less than 870 kg/m3)

> Medium oil has an API gravity between 22.3 and 31.1° (i.e., 870 to 920 kg/m3)

> Heavy crude oil has an API gravity below 22.3° (i.e., 920 to 1000 kg/m3)

> Extra heavy oil has an API gravity below 10.0° (i.e., greater than 1000 kg/m3)

> Doesn't understand that stuff which is slightly heavier than water will sink to the bottom, then cloud-up when disturbed with a stick

> Makes a good point that oil will stick to stuff

I hadn't thought about its affinity for clay, but yeah - heavy oils will stick to all kinds of shit, and the residue will be around for years.

But oils with a specific gravity near water will stick to other things, like rocks and dust and sticks and shit, and then float when disturbed. And oils that are heavier than water will still come to the surface briefly and create the rainbow effect.

>FUQ KINGS AND SHEET

Yeah, I know. But it's fun, and it drives certain people a little nuts. And besides, any title only has the meaning we choose to assign it, just as GEOTUS only has the power we give him.

Nobody wants to make Trump king or anything, so relax man.
