These are financial institutions that sell index etfs and mutual funds that hold america's retirement and pensions, etc. WE THE PEOPLE are the "owners" of those funds. The financial institutions are just the middlemen…so be clear when you speak.
the issue at hand is less about who owns them directly or through financial instruments, it is about the concentration of the corporate voting rights…so know what the fuck you're talking about when you want to bash these institutions. they deserve it…but for the right reasons. otherwise you look like an ass.
