the other thought is how long do each of those natural filters last like sand and clay if chemicals can become attached fine for particulate and stuff but do you need to replace natural filters. Never thought about it till now.

doing some digging found some basic stuff like ohio produces limestone and dolomite, sand and gravel, sandstone and conglomerate, clay, shale, and salt. Gypsum has been mined in the past but is not currently produced. Also appears to be some oil production in the south and there is also some salt mines in the north east as well. Not exactly rare minerals
