doing some digging found some basic stuff like ohio produces limestone and dolomite, sand and gravel, sandstone and conglomerate, clay, shale, and salt. Gypsum has been mined in the past but is not currently produced. Also appears to be some oil production in the south and there is also some salt mines in the north east as well. Not exactly rare minerals
seems there was a warehouse fire on the south side of chicago just a couple of weeks back as well .
