Head of the House's January 6 investigation says riots were a 'multipart plan to prevent the transfer of power' and that DOJ needs to charge Donald Trump, Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani in his first interview
Top investigator for the House January 6 committee, Timothy Heaphy, stated the riots were part of a 'multipart plan to prevent the transfer of power'
He has urged the Department of Justice to consider charging several of former President Trump's allies, including Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani
February 20, 2023
Heaphy believes the DOJ may yet go on to charge some of the former President's inner circle, who did not testify before the committee.
The top investigator for the House January 6 committee has said the riots were part of a 'multipart plan to prevent the transfer of power' following the 2020 election.
Timothy Heaphy, a former U.S. attorney, said he believes the Department of Justice also needs to charge several allies of former President Donald Trump including his former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.
Meadows never testified before the committee, while Giuliani revealed very little - pleading the Fifth throughout his testimony.
The House select committee spent months investigating Trump and his allies' involvement in inciting the riot and called on several members of his inner circle to testify.
Although some decided to remain silent when called before the panel, Heaphy said that the DOJ will ultimately come to a decision on who to charge depending on what further evidence they are able to procure - beyond what was presented to the House committee.
Heaphy remained silent throughout the panel's 18-month long investigation but has finally made his thoughts known to the New York Times in his first interview since January 6 congressional hearings concluded late last year.
On January 6, 2021, supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol as congress was getting ready to certify the 2020 election vote. Five people died in the riot.
The riots followed months of false claims by Trump and his allies that the election had been rigged against him.
Heaphy told the Times how he believed the country came close to losing democracy itself on that day.
He said: 'I didn't fully appreciate sometimes how fragile democracy is. But for the courage of a handful of people who elevated principle over politics, against their own self-interest, we could have had a different outcome.
'We could have had the will of the people subverted. That's frightening, and we can't take it for granted.'
The Committee interviewed over a thousand people and reviewed over one million documents. The investigation quickly took on the feel of a criminal probe, Heaphy explained.
'When we started to see intentional conduct, specific steps that appear to be designed to disrupt the joint session of Congress, that's where it starts to sound criminal. The whole key for the special counsel is intent.
'The more evidence that we saw of the president's intent, and others working with him, to take steps to prevent the transfer of power from happening, it started to feel more and more like possible criminal conduct.'
With the investigation now concluded, Heaphy believes the DOJ may yet go on to charge several of former President Trump inner circle.
'There is a cast of characters. I think you could look at [Rudolph] Giuliani, and Mark Meadows. I think that the Justice Department has to look very closely at whether there was an agreement or conspiracy.'
'There's a lot of evidence that we didn't get. Mr. Meadows didn't come and talk to us. We did interview Mr. Giuliani, but he asserted attorney-client privilege a lot. John Eastman cited the Fifth Amendment to everything.'
Heaphy noted how the DOJ might also pursue charges against lawyer John Eastman and Jeffrey Clark.
Eastman has received widespread attention for his role as attorney to then president Donald Trump during which he suggested that vice president Mike Pence could refuse the results of some states' election results.
Clark, meanwhile, was a high-ranking DOJ official in the Trump administration and was was one of the few lawyers within the DOJ who was willing to act on Trump's baseless claims of election fraud and requests for help in overturning the results, witnesses said.

A criminal grand jury investigation arguably overrules or takes precedence over an attorney-client privilege assertion or executive privilege.(liar!)The grand jury may be able to get answers that we didn't get, and I hope that they do,' Heaphy told The Times.
'How broad the conspiracy extends, I don't know. But it's potentially broader than even the people that we mentioned.
Heaphy explained how he believes the panel broke new ground in terms of understanding what lay behind the Capitol siege thanks to the inclusion of 14 former federal prosecutors who were brought in because of the magnitude of the work.
'[A] pattern of the multipart plan to prevent the transfer of power started to take shape started to fall into place pretty early, and that was surprising. The world had seen the violence of the Capitol and how awful it was.
'But how we got there, and how methodical and intentional it was — this ratcheting up of pressure that ultimately culminates in the president inciting a mob to disrupt the joint session — that was new,' Heaphy said as he realized the gravity of the task before him.
Heaphy also told how it was hard to interview witnesses when they were worried their cooperation would leak out after speaking, labeling them a 'turncoat.'
'I mean, there were days when we would interview a witness and literally 30 minutes later, there's Luke Broadwater [NY Times journalist] on TV saying the select committee interviewed the witness,' Heaphy explained.
'And that makes it really difficult because there were times when people would say, 'Well, my client would like to help the committee, but she's concerned that if she does, then she'll immediately be outed as a turncoat.''
One criticism directed at the committee was how the panel waited until close to the end of the hearings before issuing a subpoena for President Trump to appear and never issued one for Vice President Mike Pence to come. But Heaphy justifies the delay as simply part of the learning process of the investigation.
'In any investigation, you want to learn as much as you can before you get to the most significant witnesses. Much like you do in a criminal investigation, you climb the ladder. You talk to people of increasing significance. You start at the bottom, and you build a foundation.'
Not everyone who was called to testify in front of the committee did so with some exercising their Fifth Amendment right not to speak.
'The public nature, the scrutiny under which we operated, was not helpful, and it made it more difficult for us to earn the trust and confidence of people,' Heaphy said.
'I'm really glad that all of our transcripts have been released. So if anyone thinks that we misled or shaded or hid facts, it's all out there. I wanted to make sure as the chief investigator that every single statement that any member made, that any witness made, we could stand behind.'

Left-Wing Protesters Mob Joe Biden While at Dinner
February 19, 2023
Left-wing activists from the anti-war group CODEPINK cornered Joe Biden while he was eating dinner on Saturday night. Viral video of the incident shows protesters shouting at the president and his wife, Jill Biden, as they sit in the corner of the restaurant.
Members of the left-wing group, which describes itself as a “feminist grassroots organization working to support peace & human rights,” are heard shouting about ending the war in Ukraine and lifting the blockade on Cuba. Hilariously, the servers that move in are all wearing N95 masks…in the year 2023 because apparently science isn’t a thing in Washington, DC.

Normally, I’d condemn such behavior but it’s hard to do so in this situation when Joe Biden and his party are the ones who created this environment. They laughed at Ted Cruz getting heckled and driven out the backdoor of a restaurant in 2018. They dismissed the danger Rand Paul and his wife were placed in when they were mobbed outside the RNC in 2020.
Things then came to a head in 2022 when far-left abortion activists were allowed to harass conservative Supreme Court justices at their homes, leading to an assassination attempt against Brett Kavanaugh. Despite pleas for help, Biden and his DOJ pointedly refused to enforce federal law, which prohibits harassing judges in an attempt to influence their decisions.
So yeah, I have no sympathy for Biden’s dinner being interrupted by the hordes that he coddled and encouraged. Perhaps getting a taste of what he’s wrought will change his stance on encouraging public harassment of officials? Oh, who am I kidding, that’s not going to happen.
It will be interesting, though, to see how the press reacts to this. Do they laugh it off as they did when Republicans were the targets or do they show their hypocrisy by gnashing their teeth? I guess we’ll see.

Biden makes surprise trip to Ukraine ahead of Russian invasion anniversary
February 20, 2023
(cgi visit?, fake Ukraine like the fake WH set? The story is janky, made visit, scheduled to visit etc)
KYIV, Ukraine — Resident Biden made a dramatic, unannounced visit to Kyiv on Monday, in a display of strong American support for Ukraine just four days before the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
The high-risk visit, to a Ukrainian capital that has been under threat of missile attacks, signals continued commitment from the United States, the largest financial and military backer of Ukraine’s effort to repel Russian invaders from its territory.
Biden was spotted outside St. Michael Golden-Domed Monastery with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian capital was in a tight security lockdown with car traffic halted and even pedestrians blocked from certain streets. Shortly afterward, an air raid siren went off in the city.
Biden has insisted the U.S. will continue to back Ukraine for “as long as it takes” despite flagging support among the American public and no near-term prospect of peace talks to end the conflict.
The Biden administration has provided some $30 billion in security aid since President Vladimir Putin sent Russian forces into Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, initiating the largest ground war in Europe since World War II — one that already has cost his country and Ukraine hundreds of thousands of casualties.
Under Biden’s leadership, the U.S. and its NATO allies have gradually expanding the array of weaponry they have pledged to include heavy tanks.
While other world leaders have visited Kyiv to meet with Zelensky over the past year, and tour the war-scarred city, Biden has stayed away due to security concerns and fears about the possibility of conflict between the world’s two largest nuclear powers, sending senior aides in his place. First Lady Jill Biden made a surprise visit to Western Ukraine on Mother’s Day in May.
His visit was shrouded in secrecy. Biden was due to leave for an announced visit to Poland from Washington on Monday evening.

I thought it could be Joe but on further reflection it's not his signature. The "oe" in Joe have remained fairly consistent. Until that love letter to Nazis.
"I am a pharmacist in Missouri. I read a few days ago that none of Biden’s Executive Orders have been posted to the Federal Register, so I looked, then, a few days ago. Those Executive Orders are showing up. However, I believe I have accidentally discovered his signature may be a forgery. I just sat on this discovery, thinking someone else more important would notice it. I guess no one has yet.
Part of my job as a pharmacist is to watch for forged doctor signatures and I am pretty sure Joe’s are forged. I suspect that he is embarrassed by his shaky signature and had his wife sign for his signature stamp used for official business. As you can see on the attachment the last three signatures are identical, indicative of a stamp, and that’s fine as long as it is his signature. Maybe that’s easier to submit to the Federal Register. Otherwise, I believe it is illegal to have someone else sign for a signature stamp that binds a legal document. I have seen the signature of doctors get shaky at the end of their careers, but never change in a single year as Joe’s purportedly has done.
If you have contact with a handwriting expert, perhaps you can have that person take a look. But look at the attachment I created, all from the public domain. Clearly, Joe has an established signature, but the last three signatures I have on the document are from separate Executive Orders that can be found online at the Federal Register. Clearly, in my opinion, they are not his signature. They look more like the signature of his wife, Jill, also on the attachment. Focus on the “B” in Biden. Perhaps an expert can offer a more definitive opinion."
