America’s large grocery chains merging with Big Tech to track, control your food and drug purchases

Grocery giant Albertsons, along with partner companies Safeway, Vons, Shaw’s, Jewel-Osco, Acme, and Tom Thumb, is rolling out a new “Sincerely Health” tech platform app for customers to keep a close eye on their food and drug purchases.

The company describes the app as something that allows customers to “connect data from wearables, integrate prescriptions, design their diet and make telehealth or vaccination appointments.”

Albertsons is currently in talks with Kroger, by the way, to perform a merger. Should that be a success, the new Albertson’s-Kroger mega-grocery chain would capture control over 36 percent of the American grocery supermarket business.

Competitor Walmart, America’s largest grocery chain, is also rolling out a similar program to track customer’s food purchase habits in conjunction with the pharmaceutical purchasing habits.

“Your grocery purchasing habits have been considered very valuable data for decades now, with most major supermarkets offering things like ‘loyalty’ cards that give discounts on grocery products,” writes Brian Shilhavy for Health Impact News.

“But now, Big Food wants to merge that with your Big Pharma purchases as well, which would include prescription drug purchases as well as vaccines.”

Pixel tracking technology allows Albertsons to invade users’ privacy – but they can choose to opt out of it

According to Fierce Healthcare, the Albertsons Sincerely Health platform starts by asking users to fill out a questionnaire about the “seven dimensions of wellbeing.” These include activity, mental wellbeing, mindfulness, nutrition, physical health, self-control, and sleep.

“Responses are assessed along with the user’s age, gender, lifestyle choices and mental health,” the report states.

“Users can then set goals such as engaging in meditation five times a week, sleeping at least seven hours a night and taking 10 thousand steps daily.”

The Sincerely Health platform also connects users to the Albertsons pharmacy division for managing prescriptions, scheduling vaccine appointments, and making telehealth appointments through a partnership with Providence Express Care.

“Users can opt in to receive reminders to take daily medications or refill prescriptions,” the report says.

More controversial is the “Pixel” tracking technology used in the app. Pixel, which is used to track users’ interests and provide “relevant content,” has been the subject of numerous lawsuits in recent years concerning its invasion of patient privacy.

Albertsons claims it does not sell any of this customer data to third parties, pointing to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) – but is this still true in the post-covid era?

“All it takes is a declaration of a ‘public health emergency’ and pretty much the entire Constitution of the U.S. is suspended all in the name of ‘public health,'” Shilhavy notes about how HIPAA could already be a thing of the past.

“Your private health decisions are then broadcast to the public to be used against you, such as whether or not you choose to wear a facemask, or show your proof of vaccination, in order to enter their stores.”

It does not take a rocket scientist to ascertain how easily Big Food can now exploit customer data to push more medical fascism. When the next scamdemic arrives, Albertsons will be in a unique spot with its Sincerely Health app to punish customers who refuse to obey the state’s orders.

“These apps that combine your drug, vaccine, food, and doctor appointment purchases could easily be used in the future to prevent you from accessing these purchases if you do not comply with their requirements, such as being up-to-date on your vaccines,” Shilhavy says.

“Those who receive government aid, such as food stamps, Section 8 housing, Medicare / Medicaid, etc., could all be tied into the information you provide on these apps.”

'Primers on how to be trans': 45 picture books target pre-schoolers with trans ideology

Gay or lesbian characters in books aimed at young audiences are always adults, never children, whereas the trans picture books are what Charlesworth calls "primers in how to be 'trans.'"

A report by a group campaigning for science-based teaching in schools has revealed that there are now at least 60 picture books that teach children it is possible to be a member of the opposite sex, 45 of which are marketed to the under-5 age category.

The in-depth report was written by former BBC journalist Shelley Charlesworth and published by Transgender Trend, a UK organization advocating for evidence-based care of gender dysphoric children and science-based teaching in schools.

Charlesworth points out that it “an undisputed fact about child development” that children do not reach the stage of “sex constancy” until around age 6 or 7, meaning that prior to that age children will believe that it is possible for a person to change sex just by changing their outward appearance. To a child, “a man who puts on a long haired wig and a dress becomes a woman,” Charlesworth explains.

She highlights the difference between books that feature gay or lesbian characters aimed at young children and those that push gender identity ideology and normalize medical sex changes.

Gay or lesbian characters in books aimed at young audiences are always adults, never children, whereas the trans picture books are what Charlesworth calls “primers in how to be ‘trans’.” These books center on children who are supposedly transgender, either told from the child’s perspective or from the parents’.

In all 60 of the picture books (50 fiction, 10 non-fiction) Charlesworth surveyed, the “trans child” character is prepubertal, speaking to prepubertal readers. Charlesworth suggests that authors deliberately steer clear of the reality of post-pubertal transition because that would mean engaging “with the messy world of puberty blockers, breast binders, double mastectomies, invasive surgeries, and the downsides of cross sex hormones, weight gain, acne, continuing gender dysphoria.”

“It’s as if the authors know this wouldn’t play well with their infant audience who are still at the developmental stage of believing impossible things,” Charlesworth added.

The report demonstrates just how recent a phenomenon the trans picture books for children are, with only 6 of the 50 fiction books being published before 2014, which was the year "I Am Jazz" came out.

The most famous and successful of the early books was "10,000 Dresses" by Marcus Ewert published in 2008, which features a key theme so ubiquitous in modern gender identity ideology children’s books that “sex is a matter of belief, expressed by what you wear,” explains Charlesworth.

12 of the books are written by “trans children” or their parents and paint a rosy picture of what it means to grow up transgender. "It’s Okay to Sparkle" is the story of Avery Jackson, who was socially transitioned at an early age and has featured in various media, and Maddox Lyons is the author of "I Am Not A Girl." Maddox starred in a documentary.

But sometimes the inspiring “real life” stories have a darker side that the picture books aimed at young children do not convey. Jazz Jennings, star of "I Am Jazz", suffered serious complications following vaginoplasty surgery, has never experienced an orgasm, and now suffers from an eating disorder. Also, after having been accepted to Harvard University, Jennings was unable to attend, and the family said that Jennings could not be left alone.

Gavin Grimm, a supposedly inspirational “trans teen” who is the subject of "If You Are A Kid Like Gavin," which portrays the young activists as a civil rights hero, suffered several seizures and ended up in a coma for 4 days in 2021, according to Charlesworth, who points out that the publishers went ahead and released the book aimed at 4 to 8 year-olds despite this concerning development.

EU’s Borrell outlines ‘red line’ for China

The diplomat said he has warned Beijing not to provide weapons to Moscow

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has conveyed the bloc’s “strong concerns” about Beijing potentially providing weapons to Russia. The warning came after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made similar accusations last week, suggesting that China was preparing to send “lethal assistance” to Russia’s forces.

Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday, the bloc’s top diplomat told journalists that he had personally asked Wang not to provide any arms to Russia.

“I asked him not to do that, and expressed not only our concern, but the fact that for us, it would be a red line in our relationship,” Borrell said.

According to the Foreign affairs chief, Wang assured him that China has no plans to make any such deliveries, but Borrell said the EU would “remain vigilant.”

Over the weekend, US envoy to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield told CNN that any lethal support from Beijing to Moscow in the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine would cross Washington’s “red line.”

Blinken said such a move would have “serious consequences” on US-China relations, adding that Washington was apparently already aware of Beijing providing non-lethal assistance to Moscow.

China’s Foreign Ministry responded to the allegations by urging the US to “seriously reflect” on its own role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“It is the US, not China, that has been pouring weapons into the battlefield,” said ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Monday. “The US is in no position to tell China what to do. We would never stand for finger-pointing, or even coercion and pressurizing from the US on our relations with Russia,” he added.

Beijjing has repeatedly insisted that it is “on the side of peace and dialogue” and called for talks between Moscow and Kiev, while accusing the US and NATO of fanning the flames of the conflict.

Fish 'rained from the sky', outback community says, in freak weather event

Residents of a remote outback community have been left marvelling at the heavens as fish "rained from the sky" in a surprising, but not unheard of, weather event.

Key points:

Lajamanu residents say they were stunned to see fish fall from the sky at the weekend

It isn't the first time the remote outback community has experienced the phenomenon

Experts say the strange weather events can be caused by strong updrafts, such as tornadoes

Locals in Lajamanu, a community 560 kilometres south-west of Katherine on the northern edge of the Tanami Desert, said they were stunned to see the fish drop during heavy rainfall.

"We've seen a big storm heading up to my community and we thought it was just rain," Lajamanu local and Central Desert councillor Andrew Johnson Japanangka said.

"But when the rain started falling we've seen fish falling down as well."

This is not the first time the strange weather event has swept through the community.

The same phenomenon occurred in Lajamanu in 2010, and was also reported in 2004 and as far back as 1974.

Weather experts believe incidents like these can be caused by strong updrafts, such as tornadoes, which suck water and fish from rivers and dump them hundreds of kilometres away.
