Acknowledging that the enemy holds certain beliefs doesn't automatically validate the opposite of those beliefs.
i.e. Just because he acknowledges that they believe in- and worship Stan he doesn't necessarily has to believe in- and worship God.
My post was just pointing out the fallacy I see here a lot.
Where the enemy worshipping Satan is used as evidence for the existence of God.
I said 'necessarily' for a reasonโฆ
I don't know if he truly worships God, and neither do you - only he knows that.
>Bad still needs to be eradicated.
I'm here for this very purpose, despite being Atheist.
>Think what you would like.
That's not how it works.
I don't hold an opinion because I 'like' it. I hold an opinion because I can verify it.
I've been here for 5 years, the most religious community I've ever been part of, still haven't seen any verifiable evidence for the existence of a God.
Only Anons claiming to have said evidence - only to provide nothing or deeply flawed logic.
I'm open to the idea of a God existing, not that I would ever worship such a vindictive being as the Christian God.
>Raised that way or came to the conclusion at a later date?
A mix, kind of. Where i live we aren't very religious but we do keep the traditions like Confirming your faith at 14 and stuff like that. Protestant.
But, even back then I rejected the faith, as I was never presented with a good reason to believe.
>Atheists usually fall into the left spectrum.
I'm not the usual Atheist then.
>Are you a conservative atheist or did you see the absolute corruption that is American leadership and jump the fence to fight the good fight?
First off, I'm not American.
I live in Scandinavia. Socialist paradise according to Bernie Sanders.
Everyone here is left - we don't have conservative policies, at all.
I am not very popular here, as I lean center right and always have.
>You can't prove it to anyone else.
>Must be proved to yourself
That's a catch 22 anon.
I have to believe in God to be able to prove the existence of God for my self. It's just abusing confirmation bias.
It also defeats the point - I don't believe in God, that is why I seek proof.
>in fact, no one can prove anything to anybody
There are two ways for me to read this, either you mean we all rely on experience and therefore nothing is really proof because it's all interpreted by our brains - or
Or that proof only becomes proof once you've verified it for yourself.
Both of which I agree with - but doesn't lead to the conclusion you seem to imply it does.
To the first point; Yes, all we have is our brains rest is experience. But even if what we experience is completely local to our brains it still functions under a set of rules (apparently) one of which being repeatability.
So, unless we want to completely detach from reality we need to accept those rules - which then makes proof by repeatability valid proof.
To the second; Sure, if I haven't verified it for myself there is no way of telling the validity of evidence - but that doesn't make actual evidence less valid.
>to be blunt; no one really cares what you think about the God-question
I should stop answering as I readโฆ
Ok, is that why people started asking questions when I stated I was Atheist - funny way to show indifference.
God bless.
>In the old testament God would regularly and directly speak to people,
If God spoke to you, why would you assume that it was God? And especially the Christian God?
From all I've heard of descriptions of Demons, that would be their exact MO to speak to someone and convince them that they are God.
There is a reason we deemed voices in your head a mental disability rather than divinely inspired.
Nice dubs
>The difference between you and I is that i, by faith, believe the Bible to be the Word of God and the truth.
Oh I know. Though I can wonder what have made you reach that belief.
From my point of view: We are here because we understand and accept that EVERYTHING we have been fed since birth is a lie - yet the book that has controlled minds for generations has to be the one TRUTH?
It just doesn't compute for me.
How is this different from a tranny screaming that they are a woman because it is their truth?
>Atheists can't understand what faith is, can they?
Kekโฆ religious people don't have monopoly on faith. I have faith in lots of things just not in a God.
>God doesn't need a middleman. Spirituality is a direct connection to God, religion is crowd control.
If that is the case, then God wouldn't need to be defined either, it would just be.
Maybe it is.
Exactly like anon said:
>God postulates that I believe He is real, it also affirms that if He is real to me
>>real to me
>I called him dumb and blind but that doesn't mean I hate the guy
Aww. I love you too anon.
>im not here to convince you to believe
I'm not here to convince you to stop believing either.
I couldn't have been here for 5 years if everyone here had to share my Atheism.
>but you're here to demand tangible evidence from Christians knowing that it cannot be supplied
No I'm not. I'm only demanding that if you try to convince someone of something (in this case that Putin is Christian) you should think your logic through. The rest jumped from you rejecting my points and me using my own stance as an example.
>if you don't choose to believe then that's part of your gift of free will.
Oh that's a whole 'nother rabbit hole I don't feel like getting into now. Kek
You seem to think we have some sort of adversarial going on here - but we don't. I hope you are content in your beliefs as I am in my non-belief.
God bless and have a nice day.

If you knew what movie that screenshot was from you'd know that, that was exactly my point.
Fargo is an amazing movie.
