In the old testament God would regularly and directly speak to people, but people still chose not to believe. Atheists always ask for tangible proof but I'm damn well sure that if God Himself showed up beside them they still wouldn't believe in Him. My faith (look up the definition) in God postulates that I believe He is real, it also affirms that if He is real to me then His words are real, and if He is real and is all powerful then his Word (Jesus Christ and the bible) are real and it is impossible to render false.
