Sky News host reduced to fit of laughter by Biden video

The Australian presenter cracked up on air during a discussion of the US leader’s health

Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi burst into laughter live on air after viewing a montage of US President Joe Biden’s most memorable blunders.

The incident came during a program on Monday that discussed Biden’s recent medical examination, which found the 80-year-old leader to be “vigorous,” “healthy,” and “fit for duty.”

The group of Australian journalists questioned last week’s diagnosis by the White House physician, and showed a compilation of the US president’s slip-ups to demonstrate their point.

Panahi could not contain herself after watching a clip of Biden telling a story from when he was a young man and worked as a lifeguard at a swimming pool.

“I sit on the stand, and it’s getting hot, I’ve got hairy legs that turn… that turn, um, blonde in the sun. And the kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and watch the hair come back up again. They’d look at it. So, I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I’ve loved kids jumping on my lap,”Biden said in the video.

After the footage ended, the host burst into laughter and appeared to have tears in her eyes.

“I’m sorry.Yes, no man has ever been better equipped to lead the USand, indeed, the free world than the current commander-in-chief. We’re in good hands, folks,” Panahi said sarcastically.

According to the TV host, Biden’s story could only come from “a sane man in peak physical and mental condition.”

She later re-posted a video of the segment on Twitter, saying “sometimes you laugh so hard you cry… but normally not on air.”

Kiev fears US pressure to strike deal with Russia – Politico

Washington could use Republican opposition as an excuse to throttle aid, an unnamed Vladimir Zelensky aide has told the outlet

Officials in Kiev are afraid that the US could pursue a policy of winding down the conflict in Ukraine, Politico reported on Tuesday. US President Joe Biden has pledged publicly to support the country “for as long as it takes” to defeat Russia.

The growing reluctance by some Republican lawmakers to bankroll Ukraine could be used as an excuse to reduce military and financial aid and pressure Kiev into making concessions. The scenario was suggested by an adviser to Ukrainian President Zelensky, who spoke to Politico on condition of anonymity.

“I think both on Capitol Hill and in the administration, there are people who are looking to calibrate security assistance to incentivize the Ukrainians to cut some sort of deal, I’m afraid,” the official was quoted as saying.

Other sources in the Ukrainian government confirmed previous reports about messages that CIA Director William Burns has been delivering to Kiev. During a visit last month, he told Zelensky to=make swift progress on the battlefield because US aid would soon dry out, two Ukrainian officials confirmed.

Biden made a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital on Monday, where he reiterated unwavering support for the Zelensky government and announced a fresh package of military assistance. But behind closed doors, Washington has reportedly given Ukraine until summer to make territorial gains against Russia, before the flow of military aid runs out.

Russia perceives the conflict in Ukraine as a proxy war by the US and its allies, aimed at eliminating its power and influence for the foreseeable future. Moscow says it will not give in, claiming its national security is at stake. The Kremlin has also accused Washington of derailing a tentative peace deal which Moscow and Kiev are said to have agreed in the early months of the fighting.

Happy Mardi Gras

Today is Fat Tuesday, the culmination of the famous season of Mardi Gras.

Debauchery. Bacchanalia. Floats, costumes, beads and masks, and lots of drinking and partying. That’s what we think of when we hear the term Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday.

There is a lot more behind it. Also calledShrove Tuesday, it marks the last day of the liturgical calendar before Lent begins.

After Catholicism spread throughout Europe, many cultures celebrated the final day before Lent began in ways unique to that individual culture. Eggs, and milk were finished off in one day, giving rise to the term Fat Tuesday. In Poland, such things as lard, sugar, eggs, and fruit were forbidden during Lent, and the beloved pączki became a special treat for Fat Tuesday. In Detroit they still sell many thousands of them to long lines of people.

Enjoy your Fat Tuesday, and spare a thought to the next forty days. Why not observe Lent, and use the time to more deeply appreciate Christ’s sacrifice and his love for us?

I am sure you’ve seen people on Ash Wednesday with a cross traced on their foreheads. Many churches have Ash Wednesday services, and all are welcome. It’s a thought provoking way to begin your journey, to center and prepare yourself to make changes, to clean out some baggage and make more room for the truly important things.

Annnnd, ACTION! – Traveling by Train Joe Biden Makes Surprise Visit to Kyiv, Ukraine

The theatre and pantomime of Ukraine, as orchestrated by the White House & State Dept. and summed up in the phrase “World War Reddit,” continues. I will admit, the air raid sirens were a nice touch.

Joe Biden made a surprise trip into Kyiv, where the word “surprise” is intended to fall upon the eyes and ears of the American public, not the Ukrainian government or the Russians who were given advanced notice that Joe Biden was traveling to Kyiv to meet with President Zelenskyy.

The White House admits in their on-the-record briefing {Read Here} that Russia was informed of the trip prior to Biden’s departure from Washington DC. So, the New York Times framing of the transportation aspect, “after a trans-Atlantic flight to Poland, Mr. Biden crossed the border by train, traveling for nearly 10 hours to Kyiv, as other American officials have in recent months,”was clearly done as part of the theatre around the visit.

Additionally, as every media article about the visit includes (for additional “color” of the performance) air raid sirens were sounded as Joe Biden and President Zelenskyy stepped out into the streets. From the screenplay as written. I suggest reading in your best Richard Attenboroughdramatic voice:

“Mr. Biden arrived early Monday morning to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, and the two stepped out into the streets of Kyiv even as an air-raid siren sounded, a dramatic moment that underscored the investment the United States has made in Ukraine’s independence.“

[…] “Mr. Biden joined Mr. Zelensky for a visit to St. Michael’s monastery in downtown Kyiv, where the sun glittered off the golden domes as the air-raid alarm wailed. Trailing two soldiers bearing a wreath, the two leaders walked along the Wall of Remembrance, with portraits of more than 4,500 soldiers who have died since Russia illegally annexed Crimea in 2014 and first fomented a rebellion in eastern Ukraine.

The air-raid alarm had stopped by the time Mr. Biden got back into his motorcade and departed the monastery. The alarms sound almost daily in Kyiv, but the blare of the siren added to the bristling tension of the moment. (read more)

Everything, and I do mean e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g, about the Russia-Ukraine war narrative, via western media, is a scripted performance using the best deployed messaging and narrative engineering systems as created by Hollywood and corp media. No western nation can generate propaganda as well as the United States.

White House Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council, Daleep Singh, told everyone in February 2022 what the strategic policy of the Biden administration was toward Russia in the aftermath of the Ukraine conflict beginning. Few were paying attention:

Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh boiled down geopolitical power to a cultural issue of social likeability. Everything that has followed that February 24, 2022, announcement has been a strategic construct for public consumption. This is why I called the conflict “World War Reddit.” As a result, one year later we see the theatrics of the conflict story once again being performed by the White House.

Very few people will recognize this. Fewer still even paid attention to the statements that preceded the theatrics.

NY Times Already Busy Repackaging Biden as Working Class and Thoughtful for 2024

If Joe Biden is truly running for re-election, then his flying monkeys in the mainstream media are going to have to work even harder than they did in 2020 to create a fictional version of him that appeals to voters.

Working in conjunction with the Democratic National Committee, legacy media propagandists worked to fashion out of whole cloth a Joe Biden who didn’t exist. They weren’t evoking a Biden from a bygone era either — the guy they presented to the American public in 2019-20 never existed.

Fake 2020 Joe Biden was a thoughtful man who used his moderate political stances to bring people together.

Real Joe Biden is — and always has been — a hateful, divisive piece of workwho shoots from the lip and whose politics are malleable so he can adjust to whatever the moment requires of him. Kindly Grandpa Joe the Uniter was a pile of horse dung taller than those buildings they’re putting up in Dubai every week or so.

Even though Biden’s brain has long since exited the scene, the worst of his personality traits stubbornly remain. He is combative and inappropriate almost every time that he is let off leash by his puppet masters. It’s like watching a 10-year-old boy who is both riddled with ADHD and is emotionally on a part of the spectrum no one ever travels to.

The aforementioned cabal has apparently decided that they’re willing to run Old Joe into the ground in an attempt to hang onto power. Submitting an 80-year-old man to the rigors of a full American presidential campaign is cruel and unusual punishment, but it’s clear that the horrid people around him don’t care.

The media types who prop up Biden don’t have to be given marching orders. They’re professional propagandists and they know how to time their false narratives.

Ever the faithful lapdog, The New York Times devoted its President’s Day “The Morning” newsletter to once again creating a Joe Biden who isn’t there. It’s written by David Leonhardt, who should be given extra credit for his creative writing effort.

The New York Times:

I want to use today’s newsletter — on Presidents’ Day — to explain how President Biden thinks about the country and what distinguishes him from many other leading Democrats. To do so, I spent time at the White House last week talking with senior officials and emerged with a clearer sense of why Biden and his inner circle believe that he should run for re-election.

You may not agree with them. He is already 80 years old. But even if you think his age should be disqualifying for 2024, Biden’s analysis of American politics is worth considering. He believes that he understands public opinion in ways that many of his fellow Democrats do not, and there is reason to think he is correct.

The headline on this is “How Biden Thinks.” Note, however, that Leonhardt doesn’t talk to Joe Biden to see how he thinks, he talks to “senior officials.” The reason for this is that Joseph Robinette Biden has never been one of our great political thinkers. Anybody trying to attribute a philosophical bent to Biden is stretching to the point of breaking.

What follows is something I’ve been seeing more of in recent weeks in various leftwing media examinations of a Biden 2024 run: a rehashing of his life story in various lengths. Get ready to read and hear “Scranton” a lot. They want you to think that his scrappy Scranton boyhood made him the man he is today. He left there when he was 10-years-old and hasn’t lived there for seven decades, but, hey, why let reality blur the narrative?

It’s a working-class upbringing that never happened but by the time the writers of Biden fanfic are done with the story you’d swear that he worked in a coal mine until the day he was sworn into the United States Senate.

Leonhardt spends much of the newsletter portraying Biden’s political choices as being solely driven by his identification with — and concern for — the working class. It’s a bit much to take, given the fact that Joe Biden has spent over half of a century working in the elite upper tier of American politics. The military equivalent of Biden’s political career would be entering the Army as a full-bird colonel and ending up as a four-star general.

He has no working knowledge of the experience of regular Americans who are lower on the food chain. I’d be stunned to find that Joe Biden has been in a retail establishment for anything other than a campaign photo-op since Reagan was president.

I’ve said for the last two years that it must be exhausting for the Democratic propagandists in the media to keep propping up a president who isn’t really there.

The Morning Briefing: Dems Are Oozing Flop Sweat Over Release of J6 Surveillance Videokek

The slight shift in the balance of power on Capitol Hill has certainly spiced up a few news cycles since last month. Kevin McCarthy continues to surprise, infuriating the Democrats more than any of us thought that he would. He may get the hang of this yet.

McCarthy’s latest move has them a little jittery because it hits at the heart of the biggest of their lies and false narratives of the last two years: the J6 insurrection that was never an insurrection.

Kevin covered it for us:

Axios is reporting that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has granted Fox News’s Tucker Carlson exclusive access to 41,000 hours of Capitol videotape from Jan. 6, 2021, (aka J6).

Tucker has long questioned whether J6 was an actual insurrection. The FBI stated in August 2021 they found little evidence that the crowd tried to topple the United States. A Harvard University survey released in August 2022 said the same thing.

Democrats have fought to keep the tapes under wraps. That is understandable, as it’s hard to cry “insurrection” when looking at videos of Capitol police letting protesters in the doors and fist-bumping them as they wander by, snapping selfies.

That’s quite a lot of footage, isn’t it? It’s a wonder that it hasn’t been available in its entirety, given the Democrats’ alleged desire to get to the truth about what happened on their High Holy Day in 2021.

Gosh, it’s almost as if they’re hiding something.

The fact that McCarthy gave the footage to Tucker Carlson adds a layer of deliciousness to this that would have been hard to script. Tucker is now the number one Fox News Channel monster under the bed for the Democrats, having long ago replaced Sean Hannity in the role. He not only continually badgers them for being awful, but he also has a lot of fun doing it. It’s like he’s a partying frat boy who delights in pranking them.

It was a great move by McCarthy, and many buttons have been pushed. The chairman of the J6 Kangaroo Court Committee is obviously not amused:

I’m sure that by “used irresponsibly,” Thompson really means “used to show that all of us who call it an insurrection have been making everything up.” This is the man, after all, who oversaw the J6 committee’s careful curation of witnesses and brought forth only people who would confirm the narrative. The committee also only released surveillance footage that would do the same.

It’s a pretty safe bet that if Schiff is preemptively spinning this, then whatever hasn’t been shown to the public doesn’t look good for the Democrats.

Schiff and the other J6 false narrative pimps are likely sweating the fact that there is nothing in the tens of thousands of hours of footage that’s been kept from the public that will back up the Democrats’ claims of an insurrection. Because there wasn’t one. The public has been told for over two years now that the United States government was in danger of being overthrown by a handful of people led by a drunk dude wearing a novelty hat with horns on it.

The only people who believe that there was an insurrection are those who don’t know what the definition of the word “insurrection” is.

By the way, that would be the same United States government that Democrats say is too powerful to be opposed by armed citizens so we should just give up our anachronistic Second Amendment rights.

Kind of makes you wonder what that guy had in those horns, doesn’t it?

Top 9/11 Lawyer: Don't Trust the EPA

In the wake of the train derailment that caused a huge environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, Michael Barasch, a top lawyer for issues related to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, is warning the public not to trust the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA is insisting that the air is safe.

Barasch led the charge to inform hundreds of thousands of people that they were entitled to compensation for the health problems they’d experienced as a result of breathing in poisonous dust from the World Trade Center after the attacks. He says he still has clients who are “are dying every single day from 9/11 toxic dust.”

He’s now warning the community in and around East Palestine to “stay away and don’t believe the EPA.”

Barasch noted that in 2001, the EPA similarly assured people the air was safe after the 9/11 terror attacks. He argued that “21 years ago, the government at least had a reason: they wanted to reopen Wall Street.”

“They should have just been honest with people then and said, ‘Look, if you don’t have to be downtown in your office, stay away until the fires go out,’” he told Breitbart News. “And that’s what they should have done here.”

“Otherwise we’re going to see in another twenty years exactly what I’m seeing now — with people developing illnesses and dying from post-9/11 toxic air — only on a lower scale,” he said.

Barasch wonders, “How can anybody with any kind of assurance say the air is safe?” given the amounts of toxic chemicals that were burnt into the air or have ended up contaminating local water sources.

“They’ve lost their credibility,” he added, noting that the issues with the EPA transcend politics because “it was the Bush EPA that said the air was safe to breathe 21 years ago, [whereas] now it’s the Biden EPA.”

The Obama EPA also had a number of scandals, most notably the Gold King Mine spill in Colorado, which the EPA caused.

Barasch suggests that the EPA “should be independent of everybody — even though the president does appoint the administrator.”

“It should be something like the CDC that people really trust, and I’m afraid that I have lost confidence when they say things like ‘the air is safe,’” he added.

I’m not sure who still trusts the CDC, frankly, so I think the lesson here is that no government agency can be trusted.

The fourth trumpet: Revelation 8:12-13

The scripture

Rev. 8:12 – The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day was without light, and the night as well. 13I looked, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid-heaven, saying in a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to those who live on the earth, because of the remaining trumpet blasts that the three angels are about to sound!” (HCSB)

Like the previous trumpet judgments, the fourth affects natural objects, in this case the sun, moon and stars, resulting in diminished light on the earth. The final three trumpet judgments, which we will begin to address in the next lesson, affect men’s lives with pain, death and hell.

In this judgment, John notes that “a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened.” He then reports seeing an eagle fly in “mid-heaven,” pronouncing woes on the earth’s inhabitants, who are about to experience more severe judgment when the fifth, sixth and seventh trumpets are sounded.

How can “a third” of the sun, moon and stars be stricken? Are a third of the stars destroyed, or is the brightness of these celestial bodies dimmed? What’s so bad about this judgment? What’s the significance of an “eagle” who speaks? Where is “mid-heaven?” And why does the eagle give advance warning of the coming woes? Let’s take a closer look.

The fourth angel blew his trumpet

As we noted previously, the “trumpet” each angel blows in this series of judgments is the shofar, or ram’s horn, and has special significance for Israel (see The first trumpet for more details).In the case of the trumpet judgments, the sound of the shofar alerts us that God is moving righteously in judgment, extending His mercy a little while longer for those who will repent, destroying the wicked, rewarding His people, and preparing the created order for new heavens and a new earth.

It’s also important to keep in mind that God’s judgment falls only after His calls to repentance go unheeded. The flood in Noah’s day comes 120 years after Noah begins building the ark and warning the earth’s wicked about God’s coming wrath. The idolatrous residents of Canaan are destroyed to make room for the Israelites only after their measure of sin is full; God waits patiently for nearly half a millennium for them to set aside their idolatry until it is clear to all that they will not. And Christ graciously delays His return so that people have ample opportunity to turn to Him in faith (2 Peter 3:8-9). Unbelievers who stand before the Lord in final judgment will not be able to say they didn’t have time to repent – or to offer up any other excuses (Rom. 1:20)…

Now We Know Why Mayorkas Won't Secure the Border

We have the worst border crisis in history, and the Biden administration insists that our southern border is secure. This disconnect between the narrative and reality is the reason why Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is currently facing potential impeachment.

Yet, after watching his interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace, it all makes sense.

“Our goal is to achieve operational control of the border, to do everything that we can to support our personnel with the resources, the technology, the policies that really advance the security of the border, and do not come at the cost of the values of our country,” Mayorkas told Wallace. “The law needs to be changed if it does not either meet our highest ideals or actually proves to be functional in the service of those ideals.”

Mayorkas remains defiant in the face of Republican efforts to oust him, but when Wallace pressed him on his insistence that the border is secure, he gave a very telling answer.

“What does ‘secure’ mean to you?” Wallace asked.

“There is not a common definition of that,” Mayorkas claimed.

“If one looks at [Congress’s 2006] statutory definition, the literal interpretation of the statutory language, if one person successfully evades law enforcement at the border, then we have breached the security of the border,” he continued. “Our goal is to achieve operational control of the border, to do everything that we can to support our personnel with the resources, the technology, the policies, that really advance the security of the border, and do not come at the cost of the values of our country. I say that because in the prior [Donald Trump] administration, policies were promulgated or passed that did not hew to the values that we hold dear.”

Excuse me? It sure sounds likeMayorkas is saying that “securing the border” is some subjective standard of our values. According to him, Trump didn’t secure the border because his policies were mean or something. The Biden administration clearly believes they are securing the border, even as illegal immigrant encounters are at historic highs.

There are nine Democrats in Chicago vying for the dubious distinction of calling themselves “mayor” of that wretched city. The current mayor, Lori Lightfoot, is locked in a fairly close race with Rep. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia (D-Ill.) and former schools superintendent Paul Vallas.

But, in truth, there’s not a dime’s worth of spit that separates any of them. So the race will hinge on who can lie and exaggerate the best in order to destroy the candidacy of their rivals.

Enter the superhero. Ron DeSantis the Destroyer will visit the Windy City on Monday to address the city’s largest — and very powerful — police union. The Destroyer will come to blow up the mayor’s race. And he’s already succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.

Garcia nearly got a bad case of apoplexy when he heard that DeSantis would visit and speak to the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police — the very same group that endorsed Vallas for mayor.Garcia called on Vallas to “publicly reject” DeSantis’ visit and said DeSantis presented a “danger” to Illinois.

Like I said — a superhero with “superpowers.”

Then our formerly fat but still robustGov. J.B. Pritzker (D-Ill.)went a step further. He “called on “every candidate hoping to hold public office in the land of Lincoln” to denounce DeSantis’s speech.

Why someone from Mattoon or Peoria should denounce a visit by DeSantis to the Chicago suburbs is a little fuzzy, J.B.

As for Vallas, whose only crime appears to be that the police like him, issued a statement repudiating DeSantis as a “right-wing extremist” for not embracing the LGBTQ community.

But Lightfoot, who is trailing both Garcia and Vallas, sat down for an interview and topped them all.

On Friday, incumbent Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who is competing against Vallas in the Feb. 28 election, went further in an interview with NBC News.

“Ron DeSantis has perfected being a bigoted, racist demagogue. But Paul Vallas is fast on his heels,” Lightfoot charged.

Lightfoot blasted Vallas for embracing the Chicago FOP, whose conservative leader, John Catanzara, has danced in and out of controversies for years. She also criticized Vallas for appearing before the conservative group Awake Illinois last year,something for which Vallas later apologized.

Is Awake Illinois a neo-Nazi group, and Vallas attended anyway? Not hardly.

At Awake Illinois’s June fundraiser, Vallas sat on a panel alongside former Indiana school administrator Tony Kinnett and Waukegan teacher Frank McCormick, vocal critics of curriculum that includes critical race theory. Other panelists included Nicole Neily, the president of a campus free speech organization, and Pastor Randy Blan, who challenged the state’s mask mandate as headmaster of a private Christian school in northern Illinois. Corey DeAngelis, a national leader for school choice, gave the keynote speech.

In case you missed it, in a city run by the teachers’ unions, being in favor of school choice is a heresypunishable by being burned at the stake — or something close.

It’s amazing to see the effect of a visit by a national Republican leader to this radical left city. DeSantis should be enormously pleased with himself. Only Trump could have gotten a more hysterical reaction. His speech Monday will be sympathetic to cops who have to work in that crazy town.

What’s truly notable isn’t DeSantis’s visit. It’s the terrified reaction to it. It’s almost as if a serial killer was coming to town. DeSantis should carefully note the hysteria by Democrats. It should serve him well when his campaign for president begins in earnest.

Trump Takes Credit for Getting FEMA to Go to East Palestine

The environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, was bizarrely ignored by the Biden administration for weeks. Gov. Mike DeWine reportedly had repeatedly requested assistance from FEMA, but those requests were denied.

However, on Friday, Donald Trump announced his intention to visit East Palestine the following week, and within two hours, it was announced that FEMA would, in fact, come to assist the people of East Palestine.

“FEMA and the State of Ohio have been in constant contact regarding emergency operations in East Palestine. U.S. EPA and Ohio EPA have been working together since day one,” Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and FEMA regional administrator Thomas Sivak said in a joint statement. “Tomorrow, FEMA will supplement federal efforts by deploying a Senior Response Official along with a Regional Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) to support ongoing operations, including incident coordination and ongoing assessments of potential long-term recovery needs.”

It was hard to ignore the timing, and while some might argue the Biden administration’s change of heart was a coincidence, Donald Trump is taking credit for it.

“Biden and FEMA said they would not be sending federal aid to East Palestine. As soon as I announced that I’m going, he announced a team will go,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “Hopefully he will also be there. This is good news because we got them to ‘move.’ The people of East Palestine need help. I’ll see you on Wednesday!”

Does Trump have a point? Of course, he does. He’s most likely right, as support from FEMA had been refused just a day earlier. “The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however, FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time,” DeWine’s office said in a statement Thursday.

So, we can either believe that the Biden administration independently flip-flopped on Friday because they came to their senses, or the change was entirely driven by a desire not to be embarrassed by Donald Trump.

I’d put all my money on the latter.
