Berlusconi responds to Zelensky ‘bombing’ gaffe – media

The ex-Italian PM reportedly insists he has seen the horrors of war, after Ukraine’s president claimed he had never been under an airstrike

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has pushed back against Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who has suggested that the Italian politician’s stance on the Ukraine conflict is based on him never having been under a bombardment, several local media reported on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, speaking at a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Zelensky took a swipe at Berlusconi for claiming earlier this month that Kiev could have avoided conflict with Moscow if it had “stopped attacking” the two Donbass republics, which chose to join Russia this autumn.

The ex-Italian premier also said at the time that if he had been the prime minister, he would never have gone to talk to the Ukrainian president, adding that he views “this gentleman’s behavior very, very negatively.”

In a sharp rebuke, Zelensky claimed that Berlusconi’s “house has never been bombed by missiles daily.” He went on to say that Berlusconi “had not woken up at 3am because of a blackout” in order to do some housework in anticipationof a protracted power outage. WTF? Housework?

While stopping short of an official reply, the ex-Italian PM vented outrage to his followers, according to local media. “What does this gentleman know about me?He knows nothing. I experienced the bombings as a child,” Berlusconi reportedly fired back.

According to Berlusconi’s supporters, as cited by the outlet Il Giornale d’Italia, he was surprised that the meeting between the Italian and Ukrainian leaders in Kiev, which should have been dedicated to other subjects, was overshadowed by such a verbal attack.

“It’s not true that I don’t know war, I too was displaced as a kid, I’ve lived the horrors of war,” Berlusconi reportedly said.

The ex-Italian prime minister, who was born in 1936 in fascist Italy, said that he had witnessed first-hand the allied bombing raids on Milan in 1943 during WWII, with one bomb falling on his street, prompting his family to move to the village.

Since the start of the Russian operation in Ukraine almost one year ago, Berlusconi has repeatedly called on Moscow and Kiev to agree to a ceasefire while offering his personal mediation.

Zelenskey’s arrogance is disgusting, and its not being take well by the people that run things in Italy, I bet. And he’s a crybaby!

Washington to deliver new longer-range weapon to Kiev – Bloomberg

Ukraine will receive gliding bombs from the US, with a range of 80km, the outlet claims

The US will supply Ukraine with precision upgrade kits for air-launched bombs, which give them a range of 80km (50 miles) and GPS guidance capability, Bloomberg reports.

According to two anonymous sources familiar with the matter, Kiev will receive Joint Direct Attack Munition-Extended Range (JDAM-ER) kits, the news agency said on Tuesday. They are the “precision aerial munitions” that the Pentagon mentioned as part of the $1.85 billion weapons package announced on December 21, according to the outlet.

JDAM is an upgrade for regular free-fall bombs, which turns them into gliding GPS-enhanced precision weapons. The ER version was originally developed by Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), along with Boeing Australia for the Royal Air Force. The wing kit is meant for 500lb (227kg) munitions.

The upgraded bombs were designed to be launched from US-made fighter jets, such as the F/A-18 A/B Super Hornet, but Washington and its allies have refused so far to provide aircraft such as this to Ukraine.

In late January, Boeing received a $40.5 million order from the US Air Force under an existing JDAM contract, pending completion by June 30, Bloomberg said. The outlet reasoned that the US and Ukraine “have cobbled together a method by which Soviet-era fighter jets flown by Ukraine can program and launch the JDAM-ER.”

Kiev has been lobbying its Western backers to provide longer-range missiles and more advanced weapons for its war effort against Russia. A $2.17 billion security package for Ukraine announced by the Pentagon this month includes Boeing’s Ground-Launched, Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDBs), which have a range of up to 150km (93 miles).

Moscow has warned that pumping weapons into Ukraine will only prolong the conflict, which it perceives as a US proxy war against Russia. If Kiev receives longer-range weapon systems, Moscow “will be forced to push the threat away from our borders,” President Vladimir Putin warned this week.

Hey, big spender: Swalwell spent more campaign cash on luxuries than even Nancy Pelosi

Eric Swalwell kept up his big spending practices from his campaign cash coffers all through the year 2022.

That's what Fox News found, noting that his luxury expenses exceeded those of even the Imelda-like spending habits of House speaker, Nancy Pelosi.

California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell spent morecampaign cash on travel and luxury accommodations than Rep. Nancy Pelosi during the last two years, according to a Fox News Digital review of Federal Election Commission records.

Swalwell's campaignspent nearly $583,000 on travel expenses during the 2022 elections, the filings show. Pelosi, by contrast, finished the cycle by putting $434,000 into reported travel expenses, according to a review of her records.

Swalwell has consistently useddonor funds on limousines, flights, yachts, and posh hotels, including internationally. The spending came as Americans in both his district and around the country faced rising inflation that drove food, fuel, and energy costs through the roof.

Seems there's always a need for a trip to the Ritz for campaign purposes, whether the one in Paris or the one in Half Moon Bay, both of which Swalwell has spent copiously on, even though neither city is in his district.

Throughout the 2022 elections, its largest travel expense was $20,240 to the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, where his wife was the sales director until 2019, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Didn't President Trump endure screams from the left for hosting summits at his hotels in the wayback? Seems conflicts of interest only apply to Republicans.

Meanwhile, the details of the Swalwell spending sprees are pretty astonishing:

Swalwell's committee also burned through thousands of dollars in Paris, France, including $1,800 early last May at the five-star Hotel La Maison Champs-Elysées, where nightly rooms run from around $1,000 to $1,200 per night.

…and…

And around that same time, the campaign expended $3,538.94 at France's "iconic" Ritz Paris, a posh hotel with several upscale bars and reservation rooms.

He also splashed out for some Miami Beach luxury accommodations. Apparently, he couldn't campaign without them.

It's actually not the first time Fox has reportedthis news about Swalwell's copious spending practices. They did last July here and I wrote up some commentary here.

According to Fox Digital from July:

The California Democrat's campaign has consistently dropped cash into high-end items, such as limousine services, flights and posh accommodations. His latest filings show the trend has spilled over into this year's second quarter.

Swalwell's campaign, comprised of just two paid staffers, reported spending nearly $38,000 on travel expenses between May 19 and June 30, including $3,538.94 in late May for catering for a fundraising event at France's "iconic" Ritz Paris, a posh hotel that features several upscale bars and reservation rooms.

As I noted at the time, this likely isn't a victimless crime, or a crime where only his donors are stiffed. Cash flung around like this for emoluments are easy vehicles for disguised bribery from foreign sources and Swalwell is no stranger to being a creature of hostile foreign interest, as his affair with a suspected Chinese spy, Fang Fang, demonstrated.

That the scandal was reported once and Swalwell didn't try to lay low or "be good" for awhile, suggests that this is one brazen big spender. He ought to be answering questions in the House for this, given that an intelligence operative who suddenly started living high on the hog would be a prime suspect for espionage. One wonders if this high spending on questionable campaign luxuries and emoluments might just be evidence of his being bought off by some foreign power or some unethical moneybags campaign donor.

The amount of money here exceeds that spent by Pelosi, so there's something funny going on.

It's probably not high on the list for the investigators to investigate, given how much other corruption there is in the White House, but Swalwell's spending continues to go strong, meaning, he sees no reasonm to change his ways.

Is this legal?Isn't this the same thing that got Rep. Duncan Hunter a trip to the hoosegow? Why is Swalwell still brazenly getting away with it? Who vets these things and why hasn't Swalwell been called in for questioning?

Al Gore's greenie investment fund caught buying stock in polluters

Is there anything that green guru Al Gore does that's actually green?

We know he's an energy hog, using way more than his "fair share" of energy to heat his mansions. We know he flies around on carbon-spewing private jets.

Turns out he doesn't even invest green, even though he would like you to think he does.

According to the New York Post:

The "green-friendly" investment firm co-founded and run by former Vice President Al Gore, 74, owns a portfolio of more than $26 billion worth of shares in nearly two dozen companies that were found to have increased greenhouse gas emissions in recent years, according to a report.

Gore, whose Oscar-winning film "An Inconvenient Truth" cemented his status as the most prominent doomsayer on climate change, chairs the London-based Generation Investment Management, which touts a "stated emphasis on sustainable investment options."

But a recent analysis by Bloomberg News found that Generation's Global Equity fund, which numbers a total of 42 companies, includes 18 firms which emitted increasingly more greenhouse gases annually between 2015 and 2021.

Bloomberg ranked Generation, which has $40.4 billion worth of assets under its management, as among the companies that owned the greatest share of greenhouse gas-emitting firms when compared to other funds that placed a priority on so-called ESG — environmental, social and governance — investing.

So in other words, he wants you to invest green, buying into those ESG funds that virtue-signal their clean, green credentials, same as he wants you to freeze in winter on that frozen wind turbine power nonproduction, take the bus, and eat bugs, but don't dare ask him to do those things.

What's loathsome here is the reality that these greenie ESG funds aren't nearly as profitable as normal funds that rely on profit-loss metrics and seek to give the customer the best possible return. They are less profitable because they limit their investment choices, and the greenie field is full of outfits that wouldn't be profitable at all were it not for federal subsidies. That's, to use a favorite greenie word, unsustainable. There's a reason Florida's Gov. Ron DeSantis banned ESG requirements from public pension funds just recently — he didn't want to be dealing with empty pension funds at some time in the future as a result of such absurd rules.

But here Gore's fund was, investing in non-green big-carbon-emission enterprises, turning a profit, and then claiming that green is the way to go for profit. He also may have profited himself, based on whatever assets he may have himself in the fund, if not the company ownership.

Gore just can't seem to help himself. He's a pious expounder of virtue-signaling to others on climate change matters, but as for himself, raking bucks comes first.

This, You Must Watch – Atlanta, GA, “Special Grand Jury” Foreperson Speaks to MSNBC About Their Trump Investigation

February 22, 2023 | Sundance | 167 Comments

Putting aside the rules of grand juries speaking to media that do not apply because the Fulton County, GA, group was not a regular grand jury – but rather a “special grand jury”, you might be interested to watch the foreperson of the group speak to MSNBC.

No, really, trust me.… you need to see this. Pick your spot on the video, just about any spot, and watch it. I have it prompted to my favorite. WATCH:

Keep in mind Ms. Emily Kohrs was the “special grand jury” foreperson. lolol. Now that you have an idea about the, well, ‘flavor’ of what the Georgia “special grand jury” was all about, the reminder is below.

In May of 2022 Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis assembled what is called a “special grand jury” to review claims that President Donald Trump attempted to coerce Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find votes and assist him in winning the November 2020 election.

The “special grand jury” exists outside the traditional justice system andas an outcome cannot produce indictmentsIt was assembled, for all intents and purposes, as a quasi-grand jury with the intent on creating a continual political effort through a process best described as lawfare….

As Sundance explains, it was always a farce to keep up the narrative Orange Man Bad, its lawfare’s way of keeping attention on a completely illegitimate “special grand jury” narrative. The public will not even follow it, they’ll just know Trump is bad because of another court case. The “special grand jury”, essentially have no power to really do anything. Think of Teisha the racist.

It’s interesting they always choose black women to lead the attacks. I guess to make sure no one criticizes them for illegal scams, because “well, they are black”

I swear that girl couldn't be more than 15-16 years old. I kind of think she was a big fan of Trump. When she answered, “you’ll have to ask my dad, he’s the expert” (of people around Trump)

The question is why did they pick her? It was pretty funny though. I knew the whole thing was a scam because Grand Juries are always secret and all underlying evidence. So Tillis took 2-1/2 years to drag this fraudulent narrative out. Since I live in GA i might find some friends and either file a complaint or lawsuit for fraudulent use of ATL money for a witch hunt that had no ability to charge anyone, and to harass the PDJT. Now that would be fun!!!

“Essentially, the “special grand jury” is a panel of 26 selected Fulton County, GA, citizens to give an opinion as to whether District Attorney Willis should move toward holding Trump era officials accountable for unlawful election interference. The ‘special grand jury‘ provided the media with feeder material to maintain a narrative; they also heard testimony from 75 witnesses. However, President Trump was never subpoenaed by this ‘special grand jury.’

Because the ‘special grand jury‘ is not necessarily subject to the same rules that apply to normal grand jury proceedings, which strictly forbid any traditional grand jury activity from public release (4th and 5th U.S. Amendment issue), Fulton County Judge Robert McBurney said parts of the narrative from the ‘special grand jury‘ assembly could be released to the public.

The excerpt of the ‘special grand jury‘ that was released did not assert any legal issue with the baseline for their formation, meaning no substantive finding of election interference. However, as you are likely aware,‘lawfare’ focuses on the process side – and the strategy is to find unlawful activity within the process of a target defendinghimself/herself from the targeting itself.

To that end, the ‘special grand jury’ suspects that some of the witnesses who testified afore them may have lacked candor in their testimony. The potential for perjury in front of the ‘special grand jury‘ now becomes the issue of focus.”

(If they cannot issue convictions how will they charge anyone with perjury. I suspect we’ll never hear another word about perjury.)

But I miss a lot of the Autists and anons that do incredibile research and digs. Back then when an anon said “call to dig” everyone jumped on it asap.
