Florida Doctor Removed from Hospital Board Meeting After Testifying on the Effectiveness of Ivermectin to Treat Covid

On Tuesday, a Florida family medicine doctor was kicked out of the board meeting after testifying about the effectiveness of Ivermectin to treat COVID-19.

Dr. John Littell, who served in the U.S. Army for seven years and is a 25-year board-certified family physician, was removed from the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Board Meeting after providing testimony on the efficacy of Ivermectin.

The results of an internal examination into how Sarasota Memorial Hospital handled patient care during the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic were shared with the public on Tuesday afternoon, Herald-Tribune reported.

“The direction we gave the staff was this report should be related to those things: how did the hospital respond to the pandemic, not to get into the weeds of (federal Centers for Disease Control) protocols, or the (National Institutes of Health), comments from Dr. Fauci (Anthony Fauci, former chief medical advisor to Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden), pros and cons, the difference between the Biden administration and the Trump administration,” Hospital Board Chairman Tramm Hudson said. “We can’t control that, that’s not what we’re looking at.

It can be recalled in 2021, Dr. Littell said that he had successfully treated about 3,000 COVID-19 patients with the human version of Ivermectin.

It’s a bold statement from a local doctor who says he’s treated around 3,000 patients with ivermectin and has seen its positive results. Littell has been a family physician since 1990, practicing in Kissimmee and Ocala. Littell says he’s got a target on his back for being so outspoken about ivermectin – but feels it’s the right thing to do for his patients.

“I have to say this bluntly but carefully – I’ve already been suspended from one hospital and fined $500 for ultimately doing the right thing for the patient. But the bottom line is hospitals are not allowing us to provide optimal care,” Littell said.

Littell says ivermectin was lifesaving during the delta variant because of its anti-inflammatory and anti-blood clotting properties.

“It was preventing that cytokine storm, which is when you have inflammation throughout the whole body that leads to kidney failure and leads to respiratory failure,” Littell said.

One of Littell’s patients Stacie Morales, a recently retired nurse, got COVID-19 last summer. She decided against getting the vaccine for personal reasons. When her oxygen was low, she called Littell instead of going to the hospital where she worked at the time.

“I didn’t like the protocols that they had for COVID. And my oxygen being that low, there’s a good chance I would have been intubated,” Morales said. “I’ve been with Dr. Littell for over 20 years. So my faith was in my doctor. And plus my own research. Within two hours, I was starting to breathe better. My oxygen had gone all the way down to 80. So at this point, then I could see right away in two hours, it was starting to come up.”

On Tuesday, Dr. Littell shared with the board members how he saved lives during the pandemic.

Unfortunately, they didn’t agree with what they heard, and Dr. Littell was asked to leave.

China Tells State Firms To Ditch Western-Linked Big Four Auditors Over 'National Security Concerns'

China's Ministry of Finance has instructed state-owned enterprises to phase out contracts with US-linked global audit firms as Beijing seeks to decouple and curb the influence of Western auditors, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter.

Last month, the Ministry of Finance urged SOEs to let contracts expire with the Big Four auditing firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and Deloitte & Touche LLP. The reason has been due to national security concerns. One of the people said there were no audit request changes for offshore subsidiaries of the Chinese firms.

Beijing's objective is to ensure the nation's data security and limit the influence of US-linked global audit firms. The people also noted the government is attempting to boost the local accounting industry.

No timeline has been provided to companies, and the auditor changes might occur over time as contracts expire.

The new audit guidance is a reminder that decoupling between China-US is still in full swing. Bloomberg pointed out, "One risk for China is that shifting to lesser-known auditors will make it harder for SOEs to attract capital from international investors."

Richard Harris, CEO of Hong Kong-based investment business consultancy and fund manager Port Shelter Investment Management, explained:

"It builds in a further hurdle for Chinese SOEs in terms of appealing to international capital.

"I'm not sure if the data held secret as a result is likely to be important enough to justify inhibiting that access to international capital as accountants have a legal obligation to be confidential."

And it was only last year when US-China signed a deal to allow security regulators to inspect the financials of Chinese companies in Hong Kong. The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, a US accounting watchdog, said in December it had full access to inspect and investigate firms in China for the first time. After today's news, SOEs might soon be blocked for review by Big Four auditing firms.

China Says Ready To "Join Forces With Russia" To "Defend National Interests" As Putin Confirms Xi Visit

Despite all latest among Washington's repeat warnings to Beijing against strategic or military cooperation with Moscow, China is now pledging to "join forces" with "like-minded" partner Russia to defend national interests. The statement came by the close of the first day of the director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee Wang Yi's trip to Moscow.

"The People’s Republic of China is ready to join forces with Russia to decisively stand up for national interests and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas," Wang said Tuesday while meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev. On Wednesday he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in what appeared a warm and cooperative visit.

"During a virtual meeting at the end of last year our leaders [Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin] came up with a plan for further development of bilateral relations. We are ready to join forces with the Russian side, in accordance with the high-level agreements, to decisively stand up for national interests and virtues, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas," the Chinese diplomat's statement said.

He additionally said China will "together with all like-minded partners further promote the development of the international order in the direction of equitable development."

"It’s necessary to unlock the potential of this mechanism, and it’s also necessary to develop new steps of strategic interaction in accordance with the changing situation in order to provide the necessary guarantees for national development," Wang added. "I want to fully join your appreciation of the strategic cooperation between the two countries."

The positive and glowing statements amid the high-level visit comes at a crucial juncture in which Moscow needs a powerful backer in its corner which also holds a seat on the national security council. The war in Ukraine is days away from reaching its one-year mark since the invasion began.

The Kremlin praised Wang's stance in response, with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov welcoming "China's balanced position on the Ukraine issue." He further declared that "ours and China's vision is much the same" concerning the crisis.

However, it will be interesting to see if any further specifics on Ukraine emerged from the China side. So far, Wang appears to be advancing the official party line which has been somewhat ambiguous, also while in Moscow saying that China will maintain its "objective and impartial stance" on the Ukraine crisis. Toward this end, he said that China "appreciates Russia's willingness to resolve the crisis through negotiations," according to TASS.

Beijing has of late expressed its desire for warring parties to reach negotiated peaceful settlement in Ukraine. This could be focus of President Xi Jinping's upcoming trip to Russia. While news of the future trip broke Tuesday, President Putin confirmed Wednesday that it will happen - a very significant symbolic first since the Ukraine invasion.

Massive Fire Erupts in Brooklyn Lumber Storage Warehouse, Injuring 5 Firefighters

On Tuesday, a massive fire broke out in a lumber storage warehouse in Brooklyn, New York.

At approximately 10:51 a.m., a fire broke out in a one-story lumber storage building at 335 Hewes Street and quickly spread to a neighboring three-story commercial building, according to authorities.

“There is a lot of stock within these buildings and that’s what’s taken so long to extinguish these fires. It’s a heavy load of combustibles,” Chief John Hodgens said.

“FDNY Members are fighting a 4-alarm fire at 304 Hewes Street in Brooklyn. The call came in at 10:51 am. When units arrived, they found fire in a large commercial building containing a lot of lumber. The fire spread to an adjacent 3-story building, There is no report of injuries,” the New York Fire Department wrote on social media.

US Stonewalls Nord Stream UN Investigation – Russia: “We Know, They Know, Everybody Knows USA is Lying”

The UN Security Council debated Russia’s request for a UN-led inquiry into the September explosions along the Nord Stream pipelines on Tuesday. The USA is “not interested” in an independent investigation of the attack on the Nord Stream pipeline, Russia charged at the UN Security Council Tuesday. “The problem is that the Americans are simply lying”, said Russian Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

After the first round of discussions at the UN Security Council, Russian UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya said he has “the impression Western experts are not interested in an unbiased international investigation. This, of course, only aggravates our suspicions.” The United States has veto power in the Security Council and will presumably shoot down Russia’s resolution asking for an independent Nord Stream investigation.

“We are not here to set up a trial in the Security Council”, Nebenzya said. He said Moscow was presenting a request for an independent investigation in light of doubts about the integrity and transparency of Denmark, Germany and Sweden in their ongoing inquiries. Nebenzya said the UN Secretary-General António Guterres “is someone we trust” to lead an investigation into the Nord Stream attack.

“We have strong reasons to doubt the effectiveness, transparency, and impartiality of investigations that are being carried out under some national jurisdictions,” Nebenzya said Tuesday. “We do not see our partners being eager to cooperate.”

There was “proof that explosives had been planted” during a NATO exercise in June 2022, Nebenzya said, referring to the recent bombshell report by reporter Seymour Hersh claiming Washington was the culprit.

“This journalist is telling the truth,” Nebenzya told Council members. “This is more than just a smoking gun that detectives love in Hollywood blockbusters. It’s a basic principle of justice; everything is in your hands, and we can resolve this today.”

US Ambassador John Kelley said “today’s meeting is a blatant attempt to distract” from the one-year anniversary of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. “That is what our focus should be on,” Kelley said. “Russia desperately wants to change the subject.” Russia is “abusing its position as a Council member” for using this platform to air internet conspiracy theories.

The US administration realizes that no one believes it had nothing to do with the Nord Stream attack, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

“The Americans claim they “had nothing to do” with the explosions of the Nord Stream pipelines even though the findings by renowned investigative reporter Seymour Hersh are widely available,” she wrote on her Telegram channel late on Tuesday. “We know that they know that everyone knows that this is a lie.”

“The problem is not that “the US” is the only logical answer to the oldest question in legal practice, Cui bono (who benefits?) that makes any sense; the problem is that the Americans are simply lying.”

One of the reasons I was the only President in generations who didn’t start a war is that I was the only President who rejected the catastrophic advice of many of Washington’s Generals, bureaucrats, and the so-called diplomats, who only know how to get us into conflict, but they don’t know how to get us out.

Biden Meets With 9 NATO 'Eastern Flank' Leaders, Vows US Defense

President Biden on the segment of his 4-day Ukraine and Poland trip has met with the heads of state of the so-called NATO Eastern flank countries in Warsaw.

The New York Times quite dramatically frames the meeting as follows at the opening of its reporting: "If Russian President Vladimir V. Putin were to order tanks into other European countries, the nine nations along NATO’s eastern flank would be the likeliest targets."

Biden conveyed reassurances that the United States is prepared to speed to their defense if they come under offensive action by Moscow. These nations include Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

"These are largely the group of eastern flank NATO allies who are basically and, quite frankly, literally on the front lines of our collective defense right now," National Security Council spokesman John Kirby had previewed.

He said the president's purpose in the meeting is to "reaffirm the United States’ unwavering support for the security of that alliance and trans-Atlantic unity." It's also meant to send a message to Putin that his country can't intimidate these democracies, some of them relatively new and fragile.

While an "expansionist Russia" has been a key talking point in the West since the Russian invasion of Ukraine kicked off a year ago, Russia has shown no signs that it wishes to expand the conflict to other countries. The only country which has experienced significant political instability as a result of the war across its border is tiny Moldova.

As for the latest on Moldova, Reuters reports that Putin "revoked on Tuesday a 2012 decree that in part underpinned Moldova's sovereignty in resolving the future of the Transdniestria region - a Moscow-backed separatist region which borders Ukraine and where Russia keeps troops."

Interestingly, Moldovan President Maia Sandu on Wednesday invited President Biden to visit the former Soviet Republic - something which is unlikely to happen, however.

Art dealer caught in money laundering scheme, allegedly sold $495 print to FBI agent for $12 million

Palm Beach, Florida, art dealer Daniel Elie Bouaziz plead guilty to laundering money he obtained through selling counterfeit artwork, according to the Department of Justice.

Authorities say that the owner of two art galleries in Palm Beach knowingly engaged in, and attempted to engage in, a transaction of over $10,000 through a financial institution that affects interstate commerce.

Bouaziz violated a wire fraud statute when he attempted to transfer money from the unlawful sale of counterfeit art.

In October 2021, Bouaziz sold counterfeit artwork purported to be by artist Andy Warhol out of his galleries, telling the customer that he was looking to receive between $75,000 and $240,000 for the counterfeit piece. He told the customer that the art was "authentic, original Warhol pieces," with some even being signed by the artist.

The customer paid $200,000 as a down payment, which Bouaziz wired to other accounts of his.

In July 2022, Art Net reported that Bouaziz was on the receiving end of an FBI raid at one of his Palm Beach galleries over his counterfeit schemes.

The report says that Bouaziz would order inexpensive prints or knockoff art from websites and then sell them at extremely inflated prices. This includes a counterfeit piece claimed to be by renowned artist Jean-Michael Basquait that cost the dealer just $495, which was then sold for $12 million.

Another alleged piece was a $485 "Liechtenstein," which was sold for $25,000.

The customers for both counterfeit art pieces were allegedly undercover FBI agents, who then had the artwork investigated to determine it was not original.

Bouaziz is said to have provided fake records of ownership for the art, along with false edition numbers and counterfeit artist signatures, according to the original indictment, which included mail fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering.

The DOJ says that the gallery owner also provided prospective buyers with certificates of authenticity that included false assertions and appraisals, which Bouaziz stamped with his approval, using a block that read “Daniel Bouaziz, Certified International Fine Art Appraiser.”

The buyers would often have to pick the pieces up from the Florida galleries themselves, or have them delivered either "by hand" or via interstate carrier.

Customers of Bouaziz reportedly began demanding refunds but were unable to get their money back.
