Before he uses his suit at that dinner the baddies are having a discussion in the bosses office. The female assassin, Priest, states to the boss, Jason Wynn, "Like lambs to a slaughter" and Winn responds with, "The best is yet to come". They were discussing a bioweapon incident that took place 5 years prior and said incident is what killed Al Simmons aka Spawn (they set him on fire and let his body go up in the explosives). In the incident they were to collect data on the outbreak by studying a nearby town (8k residents) that was infected in Korea. They made tweaks and in the setting, 5years later, the virus, "Makes ebola look like a skin rash".
