It was on fire for 43 minutes at least before "being derailed" in East Palestine, a la movie script of Noah Baumbach's "White Noise".
Anon posits the preexisting fire wasn't able to do its job as apparently none of the rail cars carrying flammable, toxic cargo ruptured near the flames.
As their plan, literally, didn't go up in smoke, they were forced to improvise by explosively breaching the targeted rail cars to initiate the planned fire.
Had this not been necessary it would have only been one of any number of "tragic disasters" but their bungled impromptu and very public setting of the fires shines a light on some very different people, companies and government agencies.
