I hope so. The Germans I know are very aware of what is going on but aren't sure what to do other than try to keep up with news in English and not parrot the fake news themselves (of course, that's just a few people, not necessarily representative of the whole country)

They were pissed when that pic of the kid on the beach was all over the media - such obviously malicious propaganda, that was the final straw for a lot of them and that was like 2015
