Exclusive: Rep. Ronny Jackson Blasts Pfizer Denial of Gain-of-Function Accusations as ‘Woefully Inadequate’

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) called for an investigation into if Pfizer conducted unethical gain-of-function research, calling the pharmaceutical giant’s response “woefully inadequate,” Breitbart News has learned exclusively.
Jackson said in a statement to Breitbart News, “Pfizer’s response to me was woefully inadequate and continues to show that big pharma is prioritizing its profits over the safety of the American public. I’m highly disappointed that their response came almost a month late and failed to answer many of my questions.”
Jackson, a physician and a member of the Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, sent a letter to Pfizer in January, demanding answers on if Pfizer engaged in gain-of-function research by intentionally mutating the coronavirus.
In Pfizer’s response letter, which was exclusively obtained by Breitbart News, Pfizer strongly denied that the company would engage in gain-of-function research.
“To be clear, we do not, and never would, engage in research to create or adapt viruses with the intention of making them more contagious or harmful to people,” Pfizer claimed.
“In the ongoing development of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer has not conducted gain-of-function research with SARS-CoV-2 for any potential use in humans, laboratory animals or to use as a vaccine,” the pharmaceutical stated.
Jackson contended that Pfizer failed to clarify many details surrounding the claims that it conducted gain-of-function research. He charged that the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic will investigate these claims, which may include bringing in pharmaceutical executives to testify under oath.
“Among other things, I demanded Pfizer clarify the difference between directed evolution and gain-of-function research, however, their response did not address that,” Jackson noted. “This raises major red flags that must be immediately addressed and brings more questions than it answers.”
“The American people have the right to know if Pfizer has been manipulating the COVID-19 virus since the pandemic’s beginning for their financial benefit,” he continued. “This Congress, I will work to ensure the American people get the answers they deserve. The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic will investigate, and I believe we need to hear from pharmaceutical executives about this under oath.”
Jackson wrote, “Why was this response nearly a MONTH late? Why wouldn’t they clarify the difference between directed evolution and gain of function? MAJOR red flags. I believe we need to hear from these executives UNDER OATH!!”..

First lady Jill Biden told the Associated Press that President Joe Biden is going to run for a second term, and they just need to pick a time and place.
The first lady told the Associated Press in a Friday interview that the president would run for another term in office and that there’s “pretty much” nothing else to do besides figure out a time and place to make the announcement.
“How many times does he have to say it for you to believe it?” Jill Biden told the Associated Press in an interview during her five-day trip to Africa. “He says he’s not done. He’s not finished what he’s started. And that’s what’s important.”
As Breitbart News reported, the president, who would be 86-years-old at the end of a second term, has yet to make an official announcement of his intentions to run for reelection, even though he has reportedly been setting up the infrastructure to do so behind the scenes.
Aides to the president have been saying that Joe Biden would likely make his announcement after the first fundraising quarter ends in April. It was reported in January that he was getting close to announcing his intentions to run for reelection following his family vacation, which would have given him a chance to speak to his family.
The Associated Press noted that Jill was a key figure in the president’s decision, saying, “Because I’m his wife,” while brushing off questions from the interview if she was deciding whether he would run again.
“Of course he’ll listen to me, because we’re a married couple,” Jill Biden said, later adding, “He makes up his own mind, believe me.”
A Rasmussen Reports survey from January indicated that only 33 percent of likely voters in the United States want to see Biden run for a second term in 2024. Most (55 percent) of the poll respondents said they did not want him to run for a second term as president.

‘Unimaginable’: Parents of Woman Killed by Gun Owned by Alabama’s Brandon Miller Shocked He’s Still Playing
The parents of a woman murdered using a gun owned by Crimson Tide player Brandon Miller feel it is “unimaginable” that the university is allowing him to continue playing.
On Jan. 15, 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris, mother of a five-year-old boy, was gunned down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Police say that the now former Crimson Tide basketball player Darius Miles pulled the trigger. Miles and Michael Lynn Davis — who is not associated with the team — were arrested for the crime.
But freshman forward Brandon Miller has also been associated with the crime because police say thegun used to murder the woman was his and that he gave the weapon to Miles just before the shooting. After Miles returned the gun to him, Miller gave the weapon to the police once he heard of the shooting. Miller, though, has not been directly implicated in the shooting, and so far, prosecutors are saying that he didn’t know about the murder until it was done, and they are not charging him with any crimes.
The parents of the murdered woman, though, are aghast that Alabama is still letting Miller play.
Harris’s mother, DeCarla Cotton, told USA Today that it is “unimaginable” that Alabama allowed Miller to play in Wednesday’s game only a day after he turned in the gun used to kill her daughter.
“It’s just unimaginable, and it’s like his life is just going on,” Cotton said. “He took a brief pause and it didn’t stop. It’s like, OK, slap on the wrist and go play ball.”
“They’re worried about his career, but what about this 5-year-old boy? He’s the true victim in all this. He won’t have a mother anymore to influence his growing up and who he’s going to be,” she added.
Miller is Alabama’s second leading scorer and is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. On Wednesday, he scored a career-high of 41 points in his team’s overtime victory against the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
Cotton added that it should have been clear to Miller that something bad would happen when Miles asked him for the gun.
“When somebody says bring a gun to them, what do you think they’re going to do with it?” she said. “And if there was no gun, she would not be dead.”
The victim’s stepfather, Delvin Heard, blasted coach Nate Oats for his initial dismissive treatment of the news of Miller’s involvement and called the coach’s reaction “godawful” and said his comments “crossed the line Tuesday.”
