A teacher in Hayward was recently put on administrative leave after allegedly teaching antisemitic material to his 10th grade English students.
Students at Mt. Eden High School said that English teacher Henry Bens handed out copies of a pamphlet called "The Hidden Tyranny," a text that highlights antisemitic conspiracy theories about Jewish people secretly controlling the U.S. government, the Jewish News of Northern California first reported. Students also said that Bens performed a Nazi salute on several occasions.
The pamphlet was reportedly passed out to students prior to a required course on "Night," a memoir about author Elie Wiesel's experiences during the Holocaust.
