With all the Chinese students and Chinese workers in the USA, why would they use an educational institute that teaches Mandarin language and Chinese culture/writing to do espionage. It does not make sense. The number of people in the Confucius Institute is tiny compared to the number of Chinese in the general population.
Not to mention that many spies who have been caught selling secrets to China have been native born Americans.
This sounds like too much of a witch hunt. In particular, the Taiwanese Chinese do not like the fact that Confucius Institute does so much Chinese language teaching because Confucius Institute is funded by the People's Republic of China. But now that we know the Illuminati origin of Taiwan as a non-Communist China, the picture becomes a lot more fuzzy.
