Is 2023 the year that trans goes BUST? Nearly 100 bills across 27 states target puberty blockers and other 'gender-affirming' interventions - and they're backed by voters

Republicans amp up pressure with raft of bills against puberty blockers

Trans rights activist Erin Reed calls the legislative push a 'genocide against us'

Americans by wide margins reject so-called gender-affirming care for kids

The intensifying debate over the rights of America's transgender people is coming to a head this year, with scores of Republican-led bills aimed at banning puberty blockers in front of state legislatures.

Some 100 bills have been proposed across 27 states aimed at stopping children from accessing hormone blocking drugs and other types of 'gender-affirming care', according to several groups and politicians who monitor the issue.

Other draft laws being debated in state legislatures cover everything from which pronouns can be used in classrooms, whether trans girls can play in trans sports teams and if trans people must use bathrooms that correspond to their birth sex.

They are being debated as trans people complain about battling prejudice in a fight for their survival, while parents of trans-identifying teens bemoan their kids being indoctrinated by online ideologues, some even encouraged by their teachers.

For trans activists and their opponents alike, America is at a turning point on whether to wholesale adopt the beliefs of a vocal trans minority, or put the brakes on the movement by restricting access to trans procedures for kids.

Los Angeles' new Democrat mayor pushes to lower bar for new recruits in attempt to diversify LAPD as she vows to boot officers with ties to 'right-wing domestic extremist organizations'

Mayor Karen Bass plans to reform the defunded LAPD by making it easier to join

Bass seeks to lower the qualifications for recruits to diversify the department

She also vowed to remove 'right-wing' officers from their positions

February 27, 2023

Los Angeles' new mayor is seeking to lower the bar for new police department recruits and has pledged to oust officers with 'ring-wing' ties.

Democrat Karen Bass is moving quickly to recruit officers to the defunded Los Angeles Police Department by hiring a third party to study why some recruits fail in hopes of eliminating some qualifications, according to Fox News.

The mayor's goal to diversify the police department and lower the qualifications has been deemed 'dangerous' among LAPD union leaders as some aspiring officers are extremely unfit for the job.

'That's just a recipe for disaster,' Tom Saggau, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Protective League, told the news outlet. 'We think lowering standards is a dangerous precedent.'

Other goals Bass plans to focus on include reducing the number of police-involved shootings and eliminating 'officers associated with right-wing domestic extremist organizations.'

NYC DOT strikes out by misspelling ‘Jakie’ Robinson Parkway sign

February 26, 2023

The city Department of Transportation struck out on this one.

Big Apple DOT officials botched a Queens road sign for the Jackie Robinson Parkway, misspelling the color-barrier-busting baseball Hall of Famer’s name.

The sign at Myrtle Avenue and Forest Park Drive features a likeness of the Brooklyn Dodgers’ great — atop the words “Jakie Robinson Parkway.”

“It’s embarrassing,” Glendale native Kira Incantalupo told The Post on Sunday. “Poor Jackie Robinson.

“That shouldn’t have happened,” said Incantalupo, 37. “I mean, nobody wants to have that. It’s a memorial for somebody. It should be corrected.”

Local resident Quana Martin, 32, found the typo disrespectful.

“I just feel it’s a little odd because how do you not know how to spell his name? He’s a well-known figure.”Queens teen JP Ward had a harsher take.

“It’s f–king stupid,” the 17-year-old said. “I wouldn’t say it’s disrespectful, but it’s definitely stupid."

Robinson became the first black ball player in Major League Baseball when he was called up by the Dodgers in 1947, breaking the sport’s decades-old color barrier.

He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962, a decade before his death.

“This spelling mistake is absurd,” City Councilman Robert Holden added of the road-sign typo on Sunday. “You don’t have a few eyes looking at these signs? DOT is a mess.

“This is a slap in the face. Jackie Robinson means a lot to me,” the pol added. “I was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan!”

Notified of the botched road sign Sunday, red-faced New York City DOT officials said the gaffe would be fixed “immediately.”

“That’s just government,” Queens waitress Aurora Terranova told The Post. “Most of the time s–t just goes wrong because of stupidity or oversightedness.

“That’s really what it comes down to.”

It's not just them, never forget:

'Dog parks are petri dishes for canine rape culture,’ and more ridiculous studies hoaxsters got published in academic journals

The three academics had a very serious mission in all this: To expose what they call the 'identitarian madness coming out of the academic and activist left'

Helen Pluckrose, James A. Lindsay and Peter Boghossian had a hunch: If they wrote a bunch of ridiculous papers laced with just enough lefty buzzwords, they could probably get them published by major cultural studies papers.

They were absolutely right: Of 20 papers authored by the trio under fake names, seven were accepted and another five were still under review. The project has been referred to as Sokal 2, a reference to the famed 1996 case in which American physicist Alan Sokal successfully published a paper of impenetrable gibberish in a peer-reviewed cultural studies journal.
