idiot. no one said it was a "garage" thing. he's a scientist who happened to be working at CERN. a lot of scientists globally contributed to the creation of the web as a means for scientists to communicate results to one another MUCH faster than the old and tediously slow journal publication paradigm. it was NOT created with the intention of commercialization or pornification. it was the businessmen and "organic" people that did that.
