It's more complicated than a "cult", but this statement is pretty darn accurate. People that relented spent their entire lives building up their careers and didn't have "fuck you" money (that's how the system works, after all). There were some that gave up their careers, and subsequently their retirements, just to stand up for their bodily autonomy. In a perfect world, people wouldn't have had to make the choice. Then again, in a perfect world the issues of money/economy would've been fixed before putting the entire populace through a psyop grinder.
