I am retired military and under the poverty line. Last year was the First time I've ever had to pay in for additional taxes ever (2021). I've been retired since 2018. About to do mine for 2022… Let's See What Happens.

Filing Taxes has nothing to do with the military, other than Employer ID #. It's the federal government, i.e. IRS.
However, I agree that the military is now 100% Covid Cucks and Trannys. When I went to retire they asked if I wanted an Obama or Trump Retirement Certificate. I was loke WTF? Legit question. 100% disabled. The VA stuff is taxe free. My retirement pay is taxed and then halved by 50%. So my "Taxable Income" is waaay below the poverty line. I pay in 10% extra each month so there's no way will owe taxes.
Yes I use USAA for direct deposit. Does that mean I trust them…? No. I pull my money out as soon as it hits the bank. Load what I need for bills on a Visa Gift-Type card. Invest in Lead rather than gold. Can't eat Gold, but lead will provide the eats… Buy a few boxes every paycheck. Additionally, I buy Pellets for small game and even deer with my 1500 FPS Air Rifle. Get several as long term you'll wear one out. Get at least two. I went to Bass Pro Shops as they usualy have at least 20 or more on the racks so you can check the fitment, weight, and operation. Bottom line you want the lightest one with the most Foot Pounds of Energy Delivered at Target Range. I zero mine for 75 yards. High Trees for Squirrels and Birds. Deer you're going to need a closer shot for .177 Pellet, but aim for the eyes and you'll drop one. Done it many times.
